Taylor Swift Reveals Phone Call With Travis Kelce in New Doc Trailer

Rust could never grow between telephones where Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are concerned. 

In the trailer for her upcoming Disney+ documentary, The End of an Era, singer Billie Eilish shared a touching phone conversation with her fiancé.

In the video, Taylor is on speakerphone with Travis, playfully pointing out that they have very similar careers.

To which Travis agrees, adding, “You’ve got teammates, I’ve got teammates.”

Taylor playfully compared her close relationship with her mom, Andrea Swift, to Travis Kelce’s relationship with his coach, Andy Reid, saying, “He has Coach Reid, and I have my mom.”

Taylor’s mom is a constant source of support, particularly regarding her relationship with Travis Kelce. In a documentary about Taylor’s romance, which started while she was on her incredibly successful Eras tour, Andrea commented that Travis “brings a lot of happiness.”

The sweet phone call between Travis and Taylor isn’t the only time the Kansas City Chiefs tight end appears in the latest trailer. It also shows him waiting for Taylor beneath the stage after her last Eras Tour performance, excitedly calling out, “Tay Tay!”

Taylor then came onstage wearing a familiar blue bodysuit from her Midnights era and kissed the NFL player before the two playfully rode a rolling cart behind the scenes.

Throughout the trailer, Taylor prominently showed her support for Travis’ team. The 35-year-old was spotted wearing various pieces of Chiefs gear, even while watching a game from backstage.

Taylor has openly discussed how her fame affected previous relationships, but she doesn’t feel the need to be cautious about sharing details of her relationship with Travis. She seems comfortable with them being in the public eye.

Taylor said that Travis, 36, found the online chatter and rumors about their relationship funny, which made her feel more at ease and confident about their romance.

Taylor explained on the New Heights podcast, hosted by Travis Kelce and his brother Jason, that she’s reached a point where she doesn’t feel personally involved in stories about her, even when her name is in the headline. She said that if Travis finds something amusing and it doesn’t bother him, she’s learned to adopt the same attitude – meaning she doesn’t feel the need to engage with it, even if it’s about her.

Meanwhile, Travis is just following Taylor’s lead. 

He said he really didn’t want to mess things up. He explained that her calm, genuine, and understanding nature helped him mature quickly during a difficult time.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s relationship started in July 2023 when Swift’s Eras Tour visited Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.

Okay, so as a lifestyle enthusiast, I’ve been following the Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce story, and it’s adorable. Apparently, Travis, being a huge fan of Taylor’s, really wanted to give her a custom friendship bracelet with his number on it at the concert. He tried to get it to her, but her pre-show routine was just too busy – timing didn’t work out that night! It’s a sweet gesture though, and shows how much he’s into making her feel special.

Travis explained on his podcast, New Heights, that he was a little upset Taylor Swift didn’t talk much before or after her concerts. He understood she needed to protect her voice for the 44 songs she performs, but he was disappointed he didn’t get a chance to give her one of the friendship bracelets he’d made.

Travis jokingly talked about dropping the football – something he’d later call incredibly cool – and then decided to take a chance and invite the famous singer Taylor Swift to come see the Chiefs play at their home stadium, Arrowhead.

He explained on The Pat McAfee Show that he challenged Taylor Swift, saying, ‘I’ve seen you perform at Arrowhead Stadium, now you should come see me perform there and see who puts on a better show.’ He added that they’ll see what happens soon.

Travis had grown a mustache, first showing it off in August during football training camp, and that’s how Taylor first met him.

He later recalled that his mustache and number 87 jersey were a memorable look during that time, and he was wearing them when he first met Taylor.

According to a source who spoke with TopMob News, Travis and Taylor began communicating via text and phone calls around the beginning of September.

“It’s been very low-key,” the insider explained, “as he’s been in season.”

Taylor accepted Travis’ invitation and went to Arrowhead Stadium to watch him and the Kansas City Chiefs play the Chicago Bears, accompanied by his mother, Donna Kelce. After the game, Taylor and Travis were photographed showing affection for each other at a nearby bar.

Despite rumors that they met for the first time in person, the singer of “Karma” explained that they had actually spent a good deal of time getting to know each other before that.

As Taylor noted, “We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.” 

To show how close they were getting, Taylor brought a group of her friends – including Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Sophie Turner, Hugh Jackman, Sabrina Carpenter, and Antoni Porowski – to see the Chiefs play the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Taylor Swift seems to be getting close to Brittany Mahomes, wife of Travis Kelce’s best friend and teammate, Patrick Mahomes, both at and away from NFL games. This could be another indication that Taylor and Travis are a couple.

The couple publicly displayed their relationship with a surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live on October 14th. They continued their night in New York City with the show’s after-party and a romantic dinner at the Waverly Inn.

During his team’s break, Travis flew to Argentina to see Taylor Swift perform on her Eras Tour. While there on November 11th in Buenos Aires, he connected with Taylor’s father, Scott Swift, and Taylor even gave him a special mention during the show.

“Karma is that guy on the Chiefs,” Taylor sang, “coming straight home to me.”

Following the performance, Taylor Swift reportedly rushed backstage and enthusiastically kissed Travis Kelce.

Taylor addressed the lavender craze surrounding her appearances at Travis’ games.

She told Time magazine that they’re simply supporting each other and enjoying being together, without worrying about what others think. This is in contrast to having to go to great lengths to keep a relationship secret.

 

I was so excited to see that Taylor brought her dad to Travis’ game on December 17th! It was really sweet of her to make it a family event and have him there to support Travis.

Taylor and Travis rang in the New Year together, and shared a kiss at midnight on January 1st.

Taylor continued getting to know Travis’ family and spent time with his brother, Jason Kelce, and Jason’s wife, Kylie, at the Kansas City Chiefs game against the Buffalo Bills.

After the Chiefs won the AFC Championship and earned a place in the 2024 Super Bowl, Taylor joined Travis on the field to celebrate. They shared a kiss and told each other ‘I love you’!

During the nearly two-hour conversation, she openly shared details about her life with Travis, both publicly and privately, and announced the title of her upcoming twelfth album, The Life of a Showgirl, which will be released on October 3rd.

Over two years after Travis mentioned Taylor on his podcast – a moment that quickly spread online – the couple announced their engagement. They playfully referenced Taylor’s song “So High School” in an August 26th Instagram post sharing their engagement photos, writing, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
