How Eddie Murphy & Martin Lawrence’s Kids Are Blending Their Families

Eddie Murphy is looking forward to going to Big Momma’s house for the holidays.

Six months after his son, Eric Murphy, married Martin Lawrence’s daughter, Jasmin Lawrence, in a private ceremony, Eddie Murphy shared his excitement about how their families will celebrate the holidays together.

Eddie recently shared with Erin Lim Rhodes of TopMob News that he and his spouse have only been married for a few months, and it’s still too early to tell how their lives will come together. He spoke to her at the Los Angeles premiere of his documentary, Being Eddie, on November 12th.

Even though they’re venturing into unfamiliar territory, he’s sure their celebration will be enjoyable, simply saying, “It’s going to be great.”

Now that Eddie’s documentary is available on Netflix, will he consider making a sequel to Life, the 1999 Oscar-nominated film he made with Martin?

He chuckled, explaining, “By the end of Life, our characters were around 90 years old.” When asked about exploring what happens next, he joked, “We could call it The Afterlife – and set it in heaven.”

Even if Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence don’t work together again, they’ve been supportive of their children’s relationship long before the May wedding. Eddie Murphy shared that his daughter, Jasmin, has been considered part of the family for a while now.

He told TopMob News in July that they had been dating for about two years, and she was already familiar with his family.

Eddie, a father of ten, is glad to welcome Jasmin into the family, but he’s not rushing them to have kids right away.

I’m not trying to rush things,” the 64-year-old explained. “It’s a wonderful gift, and I’m happy to let it unfold naturally when the time is right.

Martin has publicly expressed his approval of his daughter’s relationship with Eric, describing him as “a great young man.” He also says he and Eddie share the same positive view.

We both really want what’s best for our kids,” the actor from Big Momma’s House shared on The Jennifer Hudson Show in May. “We give them the freedom to make their own decisions and live their lives without interfering.”
