Upcoming Palworld Patch Includes Fix for Massive Save File Issue

In late 2024, the much-loved creature collecting survival game called Palworld debuted on PlayStation 5. Since then, gamers have encountered trouble with their save files on the console. While previous hotfixes aimed to resolve the problem, save file corruption and errors persisted, causing frustration among players. However, PocketPair is optimistic that they’ve identified the root cause of the issue and can now provide a dependable solution to address this ongoing concern for PS5 users.

Over the past few months, almost every fresh update regarding Palworld on social media platforms has sparked discussions among players seeking a remedy for save file concerns on PlayStation 5. PocketPair has been openly addressing this issue for some time now and it seems they may have finally discovered a solution to the data loss troubles that PS5 gamers have been experiencing.

Through an update posted on the @Palworld_EN account, PocketPair provides information specifically for PlayStation 5 gamers. They clarify the root cause of the current bug and outline their proposed solution, which involves releasing a patch on July 10th to rectify this issue. The preliminary details of these changes are provided in the patch notes, ensuring that the Palworld files function as intended on PlayStation 5.

It’s unfortunate that gamers who have already encountered file corruptions might persistently encounter problems. The error codes related to these issues are either “CE-100022-5” or “CE-100096-6.” If you’ve experienced this issue in your game, the upcoming Palworld patch may not completely resolve the problem.

Palworld Early Patch Notes for Update v0.6.2 PS5 Save File Fix

The new update for the game “Paworld” is scheduled for release on July 10th. This update will resolve the PS5 save file problems and may also address other bugs. For more information about the anticipated fix for the save file corruption, take a look at the early patch notes that PocketPair has shared.

The Bug

  • As a result of our ongoing investigation, we have identified the cause of the PS5 data loss issue. When too many save data files (including autosave and backups) build up on the PS5 version of the game, it causes a system error on the PS5 backend, which results in the game failing to save and corrupting data. This is ultimately our fault, and we apologise to our players for the difficulties and trouble this has caused.

Solution

  • In response to this investigation, we have implemented measures to limit the amount of save data on the PS5 version to a maximum of 10. We have also implemented some additional measures to further strengthen the PS5 saving system. The following changes will be released in patch v0.6.2, which we plan to release on July 10th.
    • Limited the number of save data to a maximum of 10 on PS5.
    • Improvements to the entire save system for stability.
      • If you have more than 11 instances of save data on your console, these will not be automatically deleted.

Important Notice to PS5 Players experiencing error codes

  • Unfortunately, players who have experienced or seen the “CE-100022-5” or “CE-100096-6” error at least once are likely to encounter this error again due to the corruption caused to their save data. We regret to inform these players that the only solution in this case will be to completely delete all your Palworld save data before playing.

On July 10th, you’ll find these updates integrated within the most recent Palworld patch. Fingers crossed, this should mark the resolution of issues that Palworld players have been experiencing on PlayStation 5.
