Half-Life 3 Reveal Rumored to Happen Before the End of 2025

You’ve probably heard this before, but rumors are swirling again that Valve might finally announce Half-Life 3. For almost twenty years, a new Half-Life game has been just a myth, but recent reports suggest a new installment – potentially Half-Life 3 – is actually in development. Information discovered through data mining points to a project codenamed “HLX,” and it seems real progress is being made. Fans are now eagerly anticipating when Valve will officially reveal the game, and a new rumor suggests that announcement could happen very soon.

According to sources familiar with Valve’s plans, we might finally see what’s next for the Half-Life series before 2026. One insider, “GabeFollower,” suggests a reveal is coming by the end of 2025, while another, Tyler McVicker, believes we’ll get a first look within the next two weeks. Both have proven reliable with Valve news in the past, so it seems a Half-Life announcement could be happening soon.

With Valve recently announcing new hardware planned for release in 2026, including the Steam Machine – a device aiming to blend PC and console experiences – now might be the perfect time for them to finally reveal Half-Life 3. While the release date and price of the Steam Machine are still unknown, Half-Life 3 would be a huge draw for the new hardware when it launches.

Valve also renewed hope for Half-Life 3 when they released Half-Life: Alyx in 2020. While the game required a VR headset to play, Alyx continued the story from Half-Life 2: Episode 2 and hinted at a possible future installment.

Look, as a huge Half-Life fan, I’m trying to stay cautiously optimistic about all the Half-Life 3 rumors going around. We’ve been burned so many times before with supposed HL3 leaks, so I’m taking everything with a grain of salt. But honestly, this time feels different, and I really hope it finally means we’re going to get the game we’ve all been waiting for!
