Capcom has promised fans that Resident Evil Requiem, launching in just a few months, will run smoothly on PCs with minimal to no performance problems.
They also reassured everyone that this game won’t have the same launch problems as Monster Hunter Wilds did earlier this year.
In a recent earnings call, Capcom explained that they’re aiming for a smooth launch of Resident Evil Requiem, hoping to avoid any performance problems, as it’s a different type of game than Monster Hunter Wilds.
They even implied that Monster Hunter Wilds was a much harder game to optimize.

Since its launch, Monster Hunter Wilds has had significant performance problems. Many of the technical issues players experienced months ago are still present today.
This winter, Monster Hunter will release Free Title Update 4. They announced the update on X (formerly Twitter) back in August.
So, the latest update is all about making the game run way smoother. They’ve really worked on optimizing things for both my CPU and GPU, which should mean fewer lag spikes and a better overall experience. Hopefully, it’ll make a huge difference!
The Monster Hunter Wilds team announced on Twitter that they’re dedicated to addressing player feedback and enhancing the game’s performance and stability on PC.
It’s still unclear whether the next update will resolve the issues currently facing Monster Hunter Wilds.
Resident Evil Requiem Won’t Have the Same Risks as Monster Hunter Wilds
So, during the Q&A, someone asked if Resident Evil Requiem might have the same technical problems as Monster Hunter Wilds, and Capcom basically said ‘no,’ that wouldn’t be happening. They seemed pretty confident about it, which is good to hear!
Okay, so I’ve heard this game is a total overhaul – everything from how it’s built under the hood, to the core systems, how you actually play it, and even how it handles online stuff is completely different than what I’m used to. It’s a big change!
Capcom currently doesn’t expect to encounter the same problems. They’re working to ensure the game runs well on many different types of PCs, providing a smooth experience for all players.
Hopefully, this will reassure fans, particularly those who were disappointed by the troubled launch of Monster Hunter Wilds.
Naturally, Capcom wouldn’t openly admit to investors that Resident Evil Requiem might have problems when it releases.

Honestly, I’m pretty confident this new Resident Evil game will launch well. Past games in the series have always been really polished when they first came out, so I’m expecting the same. For now, all we can do is wait and see how Resident Evil Requiem actually plays when it’s released!
Resident Evil Requiem is slated to release on February 27, 2026 on consoles and PC.
