How Do Expedition Projects (Resets) Work in ARC Raiders

In ARC Raiders, Expedition Projects are like the game’s way of having fresh starts and resetting progress. But what do they actually involve?

Okay, so this Expedition thing is different from most extraction shooters I’ve played. It’s not something you’re just stuck with – you actually choose to jump in. And the cool part is, they give you some perks and bonuses to make up for any risks you take when you do!

In this guide, we’ll explain everything you need to know about how this system works.

How Do Expedition Projects Work | ARC Raiders

Expedition Projects in this game are essentially optional, limited-time events that reset your progress, similar to what many extraction shooter games offer. On top of that, they also reward you with account-wide bonuses through a Prestige system.

Completing an Expedition won’t ever make you lose your progress. However, Expeditions are designed to be completed within a certain time, and offer lasting benefits for your entire account if you do.

You can find current Expedition Projects by going to the Raider tab in the main menu while you’re in Speranza. Select “Projects” to view them. This option becomes available when you reach level 20.

For a complete explanation of this feature, look for the “About Expeditions” button within the game. You can select it by clicking or pressing down on the right stick.

In short, you contribute resources to a project that creates a caravan, allowing you to move your existing Raider away from the Rust Belt. This process also lets you create a brand new Raider.

Please be aware that starting a new Expedition will cause you to lose your current Raider. Consider this carefully before you begin an Expedition if you want to keep your Raider.

There are also some advantages. Players who become Raiders in the future will earn more experience, gather more materials from Scrappy, have improved weapon repairs, and receive extra Skill Points and Stash Slots. Plus, they’ll be able to carry over some of their current progress and items.

When you start a new Raider playthrough, you won’t be able to carry over all of your items or progress. Importantly, you’ll also reset your Skill Points, giving you the chance to completely rebuild your character’s abilities.

However, Expedition Projects aren’t available all the time. They have specific dates when you can work on them, and we’ll cover those next.

Expeditions Have Limited Availability

Just one more thing about Expeditions: they’re only available during certain periods. You can’t complete them at any time.

You have 7 weeks, from October 30th to December 14th, 2025, to get everything ready and provide the necessary materials for the Expedition Project.

After the 7-week period ends, you’ll have a few days to complete the Expedition Project. For this Expedition, that finalization period is from December 15th to December 20th, 2025.

Okay, so here’s the deal: if I finish setting up my Expedition before December 21st, 2025, the Caravan will leave, and it’ll basically reset my Raider so I can start fresh with a new one. It sounds like a clean slate for a new playthrough!

Don’t stress if you weren’t able to finish collecting everything for the project this week! Any work you’ve already done will count towards the next Expedition Project.

So, Are They Worth It?

Deciding if these Expedition Projects are right for you is a personal choice. But we believe the lasting advantages will make the work worthwhile!

Think of it like this: you might not see results immediately, but completing these Expedition Projects will pay off in the long run. If you’re planning to play ARC Raiders for a while, there’s really no downside to tackling them.

These bonuses help you quickly regain lost progress. They also act as a way to completely reset and rebuild your skills – it’s currently the only way to change your choices in the Skill Tree.
