Goat Simulator 3 Gets the Mad Max Treatment in Baadlands: Furry Road (Preview)

Ever since the original Goat Simulator came out in 2014, players have loved causing chaos as a goat! We’re now on Goat Simulator 3, and the silly, physics-based gameplay is even more fun. The sequel launched in 2022, introducing the city of San-Angora. Now, two years later, a new expansion called the Baadlands is available, and I got a chance to preview this post-apocalyptic world to show you what it offers.

The new Baadlands: Furry Road expansion for Goat Simulator 3 comes out on November 19th. It adds a huge desert map to the game, heavily inspired by Mad Max. Expect to find bizarre vehicles, dangerous creatures, and plenty of chaotic fun. I’ve explored the ruins of San Angora, and here are my impressions of this second expansion for Goat Simulator 3.

Goat Simulator 3’s Latest Expansion Puts a Post-Apocalyptic Spin on a Chaotic Good Time

The new Baadlands map feels both recognizable and completely different. It’s a vast, deserted landscape filled with sand, cacti, and roaming creatures. But look closely, and you’ll find the faded remains of the old San Angora, with ruins of places you might remember. This makes it a special experience for players who’ve been with Goat Simulator 3 for a while, while still offering plenty of fresh and exciting things to discover.

Let’s talk about what’s new in this update! There’s a brand-new map where you can explore a wild landscape as a goat. And now, you can summon a motorcycle with a simple ‘baa’ to get around quickly. I’ve found it leads to a lot of hilarious crashes, but that’s just part of what makes Goat Simulator so enjoyable.

While exploring the Baadlands, you’ll discover upgrades for both your goat and your motorcycle. This map offers new cosmetic items that give your goat unique abilities and a fresh look. I especially enjoyed the propeller horns – they’re great for reaching higher areas! You can also find customization kits throughout the Baadlands to personalize your motorcycle and make it truly your own.

The biggest addition is a new collectible system. As you explore, breaking certain objects will reward you with materials. You can use these materials to unlock improvements for your base, a sort of home in the wasteland. Upgrade your base enough, and you’ll open the secrets of Vault 55, revealing what lies beyond. I especially liked the added incentive to smash things while exploring, and the base upgrades are genuinely helpful – you can even build a garage to customize your motorcycle right at your home base.

All the Goat Simulator Chaos Returns, And Then Some in Its 2nd Major Expansion

As a huge fan of Goat Simulator 3, I was so excited for this expansion, and it totally delivers! It’s basically more of the hilarious, physics-based chaos we all love. If you enjoy exploring and finding new things to cause trouble with – like headbutting, licking, or doing crazy parkour – the Baadlands: Furry Road expansion gives you a whole new world to do it in. It’s just pure, silly fun!

As you explore the Baadlands, many familiar gameplay features will return. The map still uses radio towers for fast travel, but with a new challenge: you’ll need to power them up first. This involves a simple puzzle of flipping switches at the correct moment. Fail, and your goat might get a shocking surprise – and go flying! Let’s just say I, as a goat myself, spent a lot of time tumbling around while testing these towers.

The game world is full of interesting places to explore, and many of them have memorable characters and hidden secrets. I especially enjoyed the pizza-making minigame, where you can create crazy combinations of toppings. While you’ll recognize some locations from the old San Angora, they’ve changed a lot since the apocalypse.

Looking for a bit of guidance as you explore? New Quests and Instincts will point you towards interesting things in the Baadlands. Completing these tasks will teach you essential skills, like turning objects (or even people!) into cubes and gathering resources. As you journey through the desert, you’ll also stumble upon random events that trigger even more tasks… just watch out for speeding vehicles and hungry sandworms!

The Baadlands: Furry Road expansion is a perfect example of how DLC should be done. It builds on everything players already enjoy about Goat Simulator 3, offering fresh content and areas to discover. If you love the unpredictable, physics-based gameplay of the original, you’ll have a blast exploring the new desert landscape. Plus, you can even ride your motorcycle back to the old San Angora for even more mayhem!

The new Baadlands: Furry Road DLC for Goat Simulator 3 comes out on November 19th. You can get it on PC, PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S for $14.99. To play the DLC, you’ll need to own the original Goat Simulator 3 game.
