The initial main story arc in Where Winds Meet, called Heaven Has No Pier, guides players through the Qinghe region as they hone their abilities and build their reputation. This storyline concludes with the extensive quest, For Whom Does He Return, which features a challenging final battle against the formidable boss, Qianye the Witch, also known as Heartseeker.
A Witch has imprisoned the village of Blissful Retreat within a confusing maze, and it’s your job to stop her. Qianye is likely the toughest boss you’ve encountered so far, so a careful approach is key. We’ll guide you through the entire fight, pointing out the attacks you need to watch out for.
Qianye The Witch Boss Fight Walkthrough

This first phase of the battle is very similar to the fight against Heartseeker. Qianye will use many of the same attacks, like broad swings with his scythe and downward chops. These attacks are easy to anticipate, so learning to parry them shouldn’t be too difficult.
Blocking her attacks consistently will rapidly deplete her energy, creating openings for you to deal a lot of damage. This part of the fight shouldn’t take too long, particularly if you’ve practiced against Heartseeker in the training mode.
Phase 2
Okay, so when you finally get Qianye down to zero health, things get really interesting. She throws you into this mirror dimension, and it’s like she’s got a whole new level of power! She starts using these massive, sweeping attacks with her scythe, and she’s constantly gliding all over the place, trying to catch you from the side. It looks super intimidating, but honestly, you can parry most of her attacks if you get the timing right. Don’t let her movement throw you off!
A lot of her attacks look like her initial moves, but she often adds an extra hit at the finish, or the attack does more damage overall. It’s important to remember that some attacks have longer animations than they appear, even after they seem finished. Be careful of extra hits tacked onto the end of her attack sequences.
During this part of the fight, Qianye will start powering up her scythe by holding it behind her. When you see the prompt, use Meridian Touch to push the boss back and get in extra attacks. If you don’t use it quickly enough, you’ll be hit by multiple energy waves, which will deal a lot of damage and leave you with the Burn effect.
When Qianye’s health drops to around 50%, she’ll hit the ground, causing area-of-effect damage and flipping you to the other side of the arena to face her real form.
Phase 3
White Qianye is incredibly difficult to predict – she seems to disappear and reappear right before attacking with her scythe, leaving you with almost no time to dodge.
Her signature attack starts with her holding her scythe beside her. She then spins it around in a circle and briefly disappears. Almost immediately, she reappears directly above her target, bringing the scythe down in a swing, before vanishing and reappearing twice more for a pair of wide sweeping attacks. Finally, she materializes in front of the opponent, ending the combo with a powerful, angled slash.
This attack is very risky, but it’s basically the only way White Qianye fights. If you can learn to block it at the right moment, you’ll have an easy time for the rest of the battle.
