When Vampire Survivors first launched in early access in 2021, it quickly became a popular indie game. It’s continued to attract players with free updates and collaborations, like the recent one with Balatro. While the game has received several DLC packs, a full sequel seemed unlikely – until now. Poncle, the game’s developer, has announced its next project, and it’s another game set in the Vampire Survivors world.
At the Xbox Partner Showcase on November 20th, Poncle announced their next game after the hit Vampire Survivors. This is their first new title since Vampire Survivors launched in 2021, and it’s a departure from their previous work. Instead of a fast-paced shooter, the new game is a turn-based deckbuilder combined with a dungeon crawler, featuring roguelike elements. However, Vampire Survivors will continue to be supported, and this new game simply expands the universe with a different style of gameplay.
Vampire Survivors Gets a Deckbuilding Twist in Vampire Crawlers Sequel
So, Poncle just dropped a trailer for their new game, Vampire Crawlers: The Turboo Wildcard from Vampire Survivors! It’s honestly pretty funny – they’re clearly having fun with the fact that everyone loves Vampire Survivors and they’re building on that. The trailer showed off a couple of big changes: it’s not a straight top-down view anymore, and the combat now revolves around cards. You can check out the reveal trailer below – I’m already hyped to see how this plays!
The new trailer is fast-paced, but it gives a good look at the upcoming game. Gameplay revolves around card battles where you build powerful combos by playing cards in increasing order. Outside of combat, you’ll explore dungeons, searching for treasure and navigating the castle in a way that’s different from what players of Vampire Survivors are used to. While the dungeons themselves will feel familiar to fans of the series, they’ll be presented from fresh angles – it won’t just be a top-down view.
It seems like new deck-building games are everywhere, and Poncle is aware of the trend! While they haven’t announced a release date – saying it will come when they feel it’s ready – their new game playfully acknowledges the crowded market. The trailer boasts that this won’t be just another typical roguelike deckbuilder. Considering the success of their previous game, Vampire Survivors, in innovating the bullet-hell genre, this new title is likely to offer some unique and surprising features.

The game Vampire Crawlers is expected to launch in 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch 2. It will be included with Xbox Game Pass (for Premium and Ultimate members) from day one, and will also support Xbox Play Anywhere.
