Gal Gadot recently shared if she’d reprise her role as the Evil Queen if Disney created a standalone movie focused on the villain from Snow White.
Gal Gadot, who played the Evil Queen in Disney’s live-action Snow White, expressed her interest in returning for a potential spinoff movie. Speaking at the Women’s Guild Cedars-Sinai Snow Ball Gala, she told Us Weekly she’d be eager to reprise the role, saying simply, “Yes.” She even jokingly urged Disney CEO Bob Iger to make it happen, stating, “Tell Bob I’ll do that.”
I was really excited for the new Snow White movie in 2025, especially with Rachel Zegler as the princess and Andrew Burnap as her Prince! But honestly, it didn’t do well in theaters at all. It only made around $205.7 million, and with a budget between $240 and $270 million, it actually lost money. It’s a shame, because it’s now the fourth Disney live-action remake to flop like that. Dumbo, Mulan, and The Little Mermaid all struggled to make back their costs too, which is a bit worrying.
Many believe the poor reception of the film Snow White is linked to comments made by Rachel Zegler and how she responded to questions from the media. Before the movie’s release, Zegler shared her support for Palestine on social media, which caused significant criticism and calls for a boycott. Her continued expression of these views only intensified the negative reaction.
Reportedly, the situation became tense enough that the film’s producer, Marc Platt, requested Rachel Zegler remove her social media posts, but she refused. This prompted his son, Jonah Platt, to publicly respond. He posted on Instagram (the post has since been deleted) claiming Zegler was taking over the movie and unfairly jeopardizing the hard work of everyone involved.
Zegler also shared her criticism of Disney’s classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, describing it as old-fashioned and pointing out the problematic nature of a relationship where the prince pursued the princess despite her clear disinterest.
Gadot acknowledged that Rachel Zegler wasn’t the only reason Snow White didn’t perform well. She clarified that the movie’s struggles weren’t just due to outside criticism, explaining that a film’s success depends on many things and is never a sure thing.
As of right now, there aren’t any announced plans to create a spin-off show centered around the Evil Queen from Snow White.
