Looking for something to watch? SR has weekly recommendations for shows on all the popular streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Paramount+, HBO Max, Disney+, Hulu, and Peacock. Here are 5 Apple TV+ shows you won’t want to miss.
Prehistoric Planet
The new season of Prehistoric Planet, the popular dinosaur series, starts this Wednesday, November 26th. It uses amazing computer animation to show what dinosaurs looked like when they lived on Earth 66 million years ago, making them incredibly realistic.
Currently, Prehistoric Planet has two seasons with a total of ten episodes, offering plenty for Apple TV+ subscribers to enjoy before the third season arrives. Narrated by David Attenborough and Tom Hiddleston, the series has received high praise, with ratings of 8.4 on IMDb, 91% on Rotten Tomatoes, and a 96% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. The upcoming third season will focus on life during the Ice Age.
WondLa
The third season of the popular animated show WondLa arrives on Apple TV this Wednesday, November 26th. There are currently two episodes available, with a total of 14 episodes planned for the season. This season will be the last for the captivating and imaginative series, making it a great choice for children.
Okay, so the basic story of WondLa is this: a girl named Eva has been living hidden underground, but she’s forced to come up to the surface. What she finds isn’t what anyone would expect! It’s a really wild journey across some crazy landscapes and she meets all sorts of new people… or beings. The big question driving the story is whether she’s actually the last human left. And honestly, people seem to really like it – it’s got a 7.5 on IMDb, which is pretty solid!
Platonic
If you need a good laugh, I highly recommend checking out Platonic on Apple TV+. It’s one of their strongest comedies, and critics seem to agree! It stars Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne, and it’s a really relatable story about two best friends in LA who maybe rely on each other a little too much.
With two seasons and 20 episodes, Platonic is just the right length for a week-long viewing session. The second season, released in August 2025, received a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes, making this hilarious show a definite recommendation for anyone who loves comedy.
For All Mankind
Apple TV+’s For All Mankind is a standout sci-fi series. It imagines an alternate 1969 where the Soviets landed on the Moon first, ahead of the United States. If you enjoy historical fiction shows like The Man in the High Castle, you’ll likely love this one.
With four seasons and 40 episodes, For All Mankind is a great choice for anyone wanting to get lost in a complex sci-fi series. The show debuted in 2019, and Apple TV+ is planning a fifth season for release in 2026. It’s been critically acclaimed, earning a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes for both its second and fourth seasons, and currently holds an 8.1 rating on IMDb.
Ted Lasso
If you’re an Apple TV subscriber looking for a feel-good show the whole family will love, Ted Lasso is a great choice. Originally released in 2020, it remains incredibly popular and is currently a top 10 show on Apple TV worldwide, ranking at number 7.
I’ve become a huge fan of Ted Lasso – it really changed the game for feel-good TV on Apple TV! It’s paved the way for shows like Shrinking and Stick, blending humor with really relatable struggles. Plus, it’s seriously decorated – 13 Emmys! It’s even ranked high up on IMDb’s list of the greatest shows ever. Whenever I need a great show to binge, Ted Lasso is always my go-to on Apple TV.
