The Sims 4 Enchanted By Nature Review – A Glittering Good Time

Players held mixed opinions regarding the most recent expansion for The Sims 4, titled Businesses & Hobbies. While it had its merits, many felt it lacked substantial content. Thus, expectations were high when EA unveiled the Enchanted By Nature expansion. This pack introduces fairies to The Sims 4, a feature fans have been eagerly anticipating for quite some time. However, this isn’t all that the new pack offers. It also includes a new world, a new career, and the new Natural Living skill that enables your Sims to satisfy their needs in natural outdoor environments.

Diving into this pack, I was geared up to explore every nook and cranny that Fairy Sim Life’s newest expansion, “Enchanted by Nature,” had to offer. However, what took me by surprise was the plethora of additional content it brings to the game. In comparison to some recent expansions, this one feels colossal – in a delightfully engaging way. I can sense that I’ll be uncovering hidden gems and exploring uncharted territories with this expansion for quite some time, even after dedicating countless hours for this review.

Kick things off by exploring the freshly introduced world embellished by the Enchanted by Nature collection. Innisgreen certainly embraces a magical, mystical ambiance. It retains the classic three districts, each with its unique motif. I was pleasantly surprised to find more residential plots in this realm than in the previous ones. You can either settle into a whimsical fairy-themed dwelling or choose an empty plot to apply your newfound Natural Living craftsmanship. Innisgreen offers 5 residential sites, ensuring at least one choice for each of its districts.

Absolutely, prior to transferring my Sims into their magical abode, I had to manufacture them first. When evaluating packs, I typically design my Sims utilizing primarily the latest Create a Sim features from that specific pack. The new apparel, makeup, and jewelry definitely lean heavily towards fairy aesthetics. There aren’t many new options, but they do blend well when creating a Fairy Sim. However, my Sim’s sister who is a Naturopath had limited choices to work with, so whether you appreciate the new clothes and accessories will mainly depend on your personal taste. If you aim to create Tinkerbell, you’ll find it satisfying. Otherwise, it might seem underwhelming.

While creating your Sim’s fairy appearance, you have multiple wing styles and a few horn options to select. Although I was anticipating a broader range of choices, it’s still a respectable variety. The color customization will undoubtedly be an appealing feature for those who enjoy spending considerable time on the Create a Sim mode.

After settling in with my recently arrived Sim family members, it was time to explore a fresh professional route and acquire new abilities. I must confess, I find the prospect of a new career path exhilarating. The Naturopath profession is an engaging one, as it harmonizes nicely with the newly acquired Apothecary skill. It’s less complex than some careers, especially during the initial stages. However, there are enjoyable new interactions where you can assist in enhancing the motivations of nearby Sims using your natural healing expertise – something I found appealing. This career provides the convenience of working from home, and once you progress to higher levels, you can even attend to patients at home. Therefore, while it’s not a conventional 9-5 job, it still offers a fair amount of engagement.

The new Apothecary skill is quite enjoyable! You can create remedies and cures for the new Ailments, and it works seamlessly with the Natural Living Skill. The forage feature allows you to find Apothecary ingredients in nature, and I’ve been really enjoying my Mamao lifestyle, similar to that portrayed in The Apothecary Diaries. However, it seems like EA has overused the ailments aspect a bit. My non-fairy Sim keeps getting afflicted with various ailments, which can be annoying. Yet, at least she knows how to whip up a cure when needed!

Living Naturally offers a comprehensive experience that’s incredibly satisfying as your Sim progresses, mastering the art of meeting their needs more effectively as the skill grows. You can call forth an outdoor privy, sleep under the stars, and gather food, among other activities. However, finding suitable spots for bathing in Innisgreen’s wilderness proved somewhat challenging at times, making it difficult to fully actualize my Sim’s aspirations.

Let’s discuss Fairy Sims now. They are an engaging mystical game with a well-structured skill system that offers numerous possibilities. With these characters, you can nurture plants, imbue them with protection, and utilize them for personal hygiene purposes. However, the Fairy Sims require regular Emotional Force recharges or they will perish, which I found could deplete rather quickly. This aspect proved a bit challenging as I was frequently sending her back to her fairy abode to recharge. Nevertheless, the skills provide a rich array of choices for either gentle Fairy Sim behavior or chaos-inducing mischief. You can manipulate and affect emotions, produce Fairy Dust, and even craft seeds from the ground up.

Immersing yourself in Innisgreen, you’ll find it teems with Fairy Sim Non-Player Characters, indicating that the realm of Enchanted By Nature is richly populated and offers numerous opportunities to discover unique characters and their individual traits.

In addition to the game, there are Sims that roam around like plants, lending an enchanting touch. You can request these Plant Sims for a magical fruit which, even if temporary, will alter your Sim as well. If you’ve been anticipating the comeback of the Plant Sim, this seems like a decent portrayal, albeit somewhat secondary to the Fairy Sims. Unfortunately, you can’t manufacture a new Plant Sim in the Create a Sim setting, but if you’re in Innisgreen, obtaining the fruit for transformation is quite straightforward.

All in all, “Enchanted by Nature” seems like a comprehensive expansion that offers a wealth of fresh content for Sims players to discover. I didn’t encounter any specific pack-related bugs during my playtime, suggesting that the new content functions as intended for the most part. There are delightful touches, such as Fairy Sims taking flight instead of running and their ability to shrink down to interact with household items. The game world maintains its theme beautifully, providing a magical haven where Fairy Sims can socialize. This expansion pack is likely one of the larger, more immersive new offerings for “The Sims 4” we’ve seen recently. If you appreciate the enchanting and natural aspects of life, “Enchanted by Nature” should not disappoint.
