Ben Savage and Tessa Angermeier’s baby girl is ready to meet the world.
Rider Strong, known for his role in Boy Meets World, announced on November 26th that his wife had given birth to a baby girl. He shared the news on Instagram with a simple, heartwarming message: “Welcome little one.”
The 45-year-old, married in 2023, shared photos celebrating his daughter. These included a sweet picture of him holding her small hand and several shots of him wearing a “Girl Dad” t-shirt. He also posted a touching image of his newborn daughter, peacefully sleeping and wrapped in a pink blanket.
Of course, Ben’s former Boy Meets World co-star, Matthew Lawrence – who played Jack Hunter on the show – was quick to offer his congratulations, commenting, “Wow bro!! A very happy Thanksgiving.”
Meanwhile, Maitland Ward, known for her role as Rachel McGuire on a popular ’90s sitcom, excitedly shared her congratulations when the couple announced their pregnancy in May, simply writing, “Congratulations both of you!”
When Ben became a father, many fans playfully pointed out that he was following in the footsteps of his Boy Meets World character, Cory Matthews. One fan even joked, referencing Cory’s wife Topanga (played by Danielle Fishel), “I’m telling Topanga!”
Although Ben played Danielle’s husband, Topanga Lawrence Matthews, on the show, she’s shared that they aren’t as close now as they once were. This also applies to her former costars, Will Friedle and Rider Strong.
Danielle, who co-hosts the podcast Pod Meets World with Will and Rider, explained to Variety in 2023 that he abruptly cut off contact with them. She said, “He just ghosted us.”
Despite what’s happening between them now, Danielle still feels the same way about her old colleague.
She explained that everyone has a unique life path and interprets things differently. As for her relationship with Ben, even though they’re currently not close and have disagreements, she’ll always care about him and hope he finds happiness.
As she put it, “I don’t think this is the end of our story—but time will tell.”
