Even though the show won’t have a traditional Thanksgiving episode this year, fans can still enjoy the holiday with the Belchers. The team behind the show released a new music video on their YouTube channel, “Side Orders,” on Thursday – it’s the perfect accompaniment to your Thanksgiving meal!
Disney released a new song called “Thanksloving,” a sweet and romantic ballad lasting two and a half minutes. The song showcases Bob Belcher’s love for Thanksgiving dinner in a playfully passionate way. H. John Benjamin, who voices Bob, sings lines like “We’ll make Thanksloving tonight!” and “Put our hearts in the oven, tonight!” while his character dances with a turkey on a giant plate.
The creators of Bob’s Burgers gave fans a sneak peek of their new Thanksgiving song on Wednesday. They shared a short video on Instagram of a turkey waving at Bob, announcing the song would be released the next day on their “Side Orders” platform. The post quickly gained a lot of excited reactions, with many commenters sharing lyrics from previous Bob’s Burgers Thanksgiving songs.
She said the 2014 ‘Bob’s Burgers’ Thanksgiving episode, ‘Dawn of the Peck,’ is considered one of the best sitcom Thanksgiving episodes ever because of its surprising plot and unique mix of comedy styles. While many other sitcom Thanksgiving episodes are hilarious and well-remembered, ‘Dawn of the Peck’ is especially original and over-the-top.
The Bob’s Burgers Team Also Love Writing Holiday Episodes
The show’s success isn’t just appreciated by critics and viewers. Back in 2015, creator Chris Bouchard explained to TV Line that the writers, sisters Wendy and Lizzy Molyneux, often draw inspiration from their own family traditions, which has contributed to some of the show’s most popular Thanksgiving episodes.
The show has developed a fun tradition of each Thanksgiving episode trying to outdo the last, according to creator Julie Bouchard, especially with Season 6’s ‘Gayle Makin’ Bob Sled.’ While the Molyneux sisters have created many of the show’s most popular Thanksgiving stories, this enthusiasm isn’t limited to just them. Bouchard shared, “We really enjoy doing Thanksgiving episodes – it just feels like a comfortable and natural setting for us.”
During a fan encounter at New York Comic Con last month—captured on Instagram by @phole4ever—creator Loren Bouchard shared that there won’t be a Thanksgiving episode for Bob’s Burgers this year. He clarified this wasn’t due to a lack of effort or interest, simply responding to a fan’s question about a Thanksgiving visit with the Belchers by explaining the show’s well-known holiday specials aren’t happening this time around.
He explained that the team really enjoys making Thanksgiving episodes – they’ve loved doing them in the past, and they’re glad viewers enjoy them too. He added that this also applies to their Christmas, Halloween, and even Mother’s Day episodes.
We truly enjoy creating these for everyone, and we love seeing your reactions. If we ever skip one, it’s usually due to a silly or minor issue.
New episodes of Bob’s Burgers air most Sundays at 9:30 p.m. on FOX.
