Sources say Ryan Reynolds had a conversation with Justin Baldoni about Blake Lively’s worries while they were filming It Ends With Us. Taylor Swift and Hugh Jackman were reportedly also there.
Newly released documents in the legal battle between Baldoni and Lively reveal details about what happened during their disagreement. These emails were exchanged between Baldwin’s spokesperson and the team at Wayfarer Studios, led by co-founder Jamey Heath.
Emails show that Baldoni went to Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively’s home in New York City, where Reynolds reportedly became very angry with him. This happened because Reynolds’ wife claimed the director of It Ends With Us made a hurtful comment about her weight. She said he asked her personal trainer what she weighed, explaining he needed to know for a scene where he had to lift her, and was concerned about his back. He felt this was a reasonable question to ask.
The report also mentioned that Taylor Swift and Hugh Jackman were present at the apartment when the incident occurred. As of now, representatives for all the celebrities involved have not provided any statements.
In December 2024, Lively sued her “It Ends With Us” co-star, Baldoni, alleging sexual harassment and a deliberate effort to damage her reputation. The lawsuit followed criticism of Lively’s promotional work for the film, and the case is scheduled to go to trial in March 2026.
Lawyers for the plaintiff had mentioned both Taylor Swift and Hugh Jackman as potential witnesses. Jackman showed his support for Lively by attending the premiere of her film with Reynolds on August 9, 2024, and later by appearing with her on the cover of Vogue in September 2024.
Taylor Swift has been distancing herself from the controversy surrounding the It Ends With Us film. Her team stated she had no involvement in the movie’s production beyond having a song included in it. Adding to this, she hasn’t been seen with her former friend, Blake Lively, for several months, and her representatives issued a statement defending her position.
Taylor Swift had no involvement in the making of this movie. She wasn’t part of the casting, didn’t work on the music, and didn’t review any edits or provide feedback. In fact, she didn’t even see the finished film until after it was released to the public. Throughout 2023 and 2024, she was busy touring the world with her record-breaking concert tour.
It Ends With Us is now available to stream on Netflix.
