The world of Harry Potter is constantly facing danger. Powerful, dark wizards are always trying to seize control, and Albus Dumbledore consistently finds himself at the center of these conflicts. His complex relationship with Gellert Grindelwald, fueled by Grindelwald’s intense prejudice against non-magical people, eventually leads to a devastating war that threatens to destroy the wizarding world. Knowing another threat will inevitably arise, Dumbledore creates the Order of the Phoenix – a group of brave individuals dedicated to fighting for what’s right.
The Order of the Phoenix played a significant role throughout both Wizarding Wars and is featured in the Harry Potter films. Harry discovers his parents’ involvement and learns about the sacrifices made by its members for his sake. However, the films don’t mention everyone who was part of the Order. Here’s a list of the Order of the Phoenix members who were left out of the movies.
9) Hestia Jones

The Order of the Phoenix doesn’t always handle exciting missions. During the height of the Second Wizarding War, when Voldemort was desperate for information on Harry and his friends, Hestia Jones was tasked with moving the Dursley family to safety. Though she disliked them and their behavior, she completed the job as well as she could and made it through the war. Despite her service, her contribution was completely left out of the films.
8) Marlene McKinnon

During the First Wizarding War, several influential magical families joined the fight against Voldemort, including the McKinnons. While at Hogwarts, Marlene McKinnon bravely joined the Order of the Phoenix, a decision that ultimately led to tragedy. The Death Eaters systematically hunted down and killed her entire family, eliminating anyone who might oppose Voldemort’s rise to power.
7) Dorcas Meadowes

Voldemort doesn’t just order his followers to do the unpleasant tasks – he actively participates himself. For example, during the First Wizarding War, he personally killed Dorcas Meadows, a witch with no close family who was dedicated to opposing him.
6) Caradoc Dearborn

Death Eaters usually brag about who they’ve defeated, but they’re strangely silent about Caradoc Dearborn. He disappeared during the First Wizarding War, and though some might think he simply ran away, his fellow members of the Order believe something terrible happened to him.
5) Sturgis Podmore

Sturgis Podmore is a rare member of the Order of the Phoenix to have fought in both Wizarding Wars. While guarding the Ministry of Magic, he was targeted by Lucius Malfoy, who attempted to control him with the Imperius Curse and force him to steal a prophecy. The attempt failed, but Podmore was wrongly imprisoned in Azkaban for the supposed crime.
4) Fabian Prewett

In the Harry Potter movies, Molly Weasley rarely discusses her family history, likely because she’s already dealing with so much. However, there are painful memories she probably avoids, such as the death of her brother, Fabian Prewett. He died during the First Wizarding War, and his loss deeply affected her.
3) Gideon Prewett

Molly Weasley already suffered the heartbreaking loss of one son, and now she faces the death of her other son, Gideon Prewett. While the details haven’t been revealed, Gideon was killed by Death Eaters, with Antonin Dolohov among those responsible. Dolohov later meets his end during the Battle of Hogwarts.
2) Edgar Bones

During the First Wizarding War, the Bones family held a position of considerable power and influence. Despite his high rank, Edgar Bones was eager to help, and he joined the Order of the Phoenix. Unfortunately, this made him and his entire family targets for the Death Eaters, who ultimately murdered them all.
1) Benjy Fenwick

Murder is tragically common in the wizarding world, but some deaths are especially gruesome. When Death Eaters targeted Benjy Fenwick, they used a particularly brutal curse that completely shattered him. The Order of the Phoenix was never able to recover all of his remains.
The Harry Potter movies are streaming on Peacock.
