The cast of Ghosts has been using the same outfits for five seasons, which means Asher Grodman hasn’t worn pants on set for years! You might think playing a character who never wears pants would be frustrating, but the actor shared with me how he manages when he just doesn’t feel like putting them on.
With Season 5 of Ghosts coming in 2025, I spoke with Asher Grodman about his experience playing Trevor. We discussed the techniques and tricks he’s learned over time to make his work easier. He shared how he stays warm on set with his costume, and also explained how he handles days when he’d rather not be in costume – specifically, when that means going without pants!
Sometimes, when I’m really not feeling up to doing something difficult, I find that actually just diving in and facing it head-on is the best way to get through it. It’s like jumping into a cold pool – the initial shock is the worst part, but once you’re in, it’s not so bad, and you almost forget about being cold.
Sometimes you just need to face something directly, like quickly removing a Band-Aid. It seems logical that while going without pants might be initially uncomfortable, even after years, it probably becomes less noticeable once he’s focused on filming.
As Grodman described it, getting comfortable performing without pants is like a cold plunge – you eventually adjust. Luckily, his outfit includes a long shirt and blazer, which helps. Everyone on set is also accustomed to seeing him in character as Trevor without pants, so it’s become completely normal.

As a big fan of shows like Ghosts, I’ve been checking out Paramount+. You can get a subscription for as little as $7.99 a month, or save some money and go for the yearly plan at $59.99. It’s a great way to catch up on past seasons of CBS favorites and stay current with new episodes – often you can stream them the day after they originally air. Definitely worth a look if you’re into their content!
Sometimes, it would just be comfortable to see Trevor wearing regular pants. But it’s funny that his character never does – he didn’t even die wearing them! This means Asher Grodman, the actor, has become very skilled at filming scenes only showing the top half of his suit.
The actor once mentioned that if Trevor ever wore pants, they’d be the kind you can quickly rip off. This perfectly illustrates that the character would always be prepared to ditch his trousers and doesn’t mind being without them forever.
I’m really glad to see the actor who plays this character doesn’t seem to mind the fuss! It’s funny, he’s said that if he ever feels self-conscious about wearing shorts, he just reminds himself he can always take them off – problem solved! It’s a simple, confident approach that I really admire.
