The 1.4 update for Dying Light: The Beast is a big one, particularly for players who finished the story and wanted more to do. New Game+ lets you start the game over as Kyle, keeping all your items, but with tougher enemies and better rewards.

Players who enjoyed the character progression in the first Dying Light will be happy to see Legend Levels back. These levels add another layer on top of the standard skill system, giving you more ways to improve your character and making experience points useful even after you finish the main story. It provides continued challenges without disrupting the game’s overall flow.

PC players with powerful computers can now turn on ray tracing for better lighting, shadows, and reflections. Everyone else can enjoy a new in-game challenge with rewards, plus general improvements to exploration and combat that make the game smoother and more refined.

New Game+ and Legend Levels and more

Okay, so I’m super excited – New Game+ is finally here! Basically, you get to start the game over, but you don’t lose *anything*. All your awesome weapons, armor, and upgrades carry over, but the enemies are much stronger right from the beginning. It’s a great way to replay the game and really test your skills with all that power!

After you hit level 15, Legend Levels become available, introducing a new way to progress beyond regular experience points. These levels unlock helpful bonuses like increased health, better combat abilities, and other passive improvements.

Progressing through Legend Levels unlocks a host of new rewards, including 22 weapons, two complete outfits, and a unique vehicle skin. Players can also master three new finishing moves: one for using one-handed blunt weapons, another for two-handed blunt weapons, and a final one for two-handed slashing weapons.

We’ve updated stamina so you start with more of it, which should make the beginning of the game feel more fluid. The maximum amount of stamina you can have at the end of the game hasn’t changed.

Call of the Beast event and a huge round of fixes

This update is released with the Call of the Beast event, where you can earn rewards for performing finishing moves. But the biggest news is that this patch includes over 400 improvements! We’ve fixed over 200 issues with parkour and movement, and also tweaked things like ziplines, vaulting, and where weapons appear early in the game.

The team fixed over 70 visual glitches and more than 35 problems that were causing instability. This included resolving crashes, fixing inconsistent lighting, correcting bugs in the user interface, and improving the audio.

Update 1.4 is a major improvement, offering fresh content, fixing old problems, and making the game more enjoyable than ever. Whether you’re a returning player or completely new, now is a great time to check it out! We encourage you to read the detailed patch notes to see everything that’s changed.
