The newest installment in the Forza Horizon series, Forza Horizon 6, is expected to launch sooner than many predicted. Just a few months ago, Xbox and Playground Games revealed that Forza Horizon 6 was under development and would be set in Japan. While they didn’t show any gameplay at the time, Xbox initially stated the game would arrive sometime in 2026. However, a recent report suggests the release date may be earlier than originally planned.
According to industry insider Nate the Hate, the next Forza Horizon game, Forza Horizon 6, is currently planned to be released between January and June of 2026. While this timeframe isn’t set in stone, it suggests that Xbox will likely start sharing more details about the game soon. With events like The Game Awards happening in just a few weeks, we might even get a first look at FH6 before the end of the year.
If the rumored release timeframe is correct, it would be a significant change for the Forza Horizon series. Historically, these games have always come out in the fall, between September and November. A spring or summer release for Forza Horizon 6 would be unexpected, but it could make sense for Xbox considering their increased number of game releases thanks to acquiring studios like Bethesda and Activision. Releasing FH6 earlier in the year would also prevent it from being overshadowed by the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6, which is scheduled to launch in November 2026.
Forza Horizon 6 will be available on Xbox Series X/S and PC when it launches. A PlayStation 5 version is also planned, but it will be released at a later, unconfirmed date.
