Hytale Finally Reveals Early Access Release Date, and It’s Set for January Next Year

Once Hypixel regained control of Hytale from Riot Games, Hypixel’s founder, Simon Collins-Laflamme, quickly shared their future plans for the game.

He previously told fans who were asking about early access that the game wasn’t ready for release, explaining it still needed more work.

It looks like Hytale is finally getting an early access release date, and it’s happening much sooner than expected.

Hytale announced on X (formerly Twitter) that the game will enter early access on January 13, 2026. Pre-orders will be available starting December 13, 2025.

At the same time, Hypixel Studios added a disclaimer saying:

This is a genuine early access release, so expect it to be incomplete and have some bugs for a while. However, the development team is dedicated to finishing Hytale and making it the game they envision.

Hypixel explained to players that they couldn’t offer early access to the update before the holidays because finalizing the acquisition took longer than expected. That’s why it took so long to announce a specific date for early access.

Hytale is Finally Going Early Access on January 13, 2026

This disclaimer reflects what Collins-Laflamme previously stated: the goal is to release the game quickly, even if it isn’t completely polished at first.

He also hopes the community will work with them to make the game something really amazing.

So, right after Mojang was bought, the Hypixel team announced they’re actually going back to using the old game engine instead of the one from Riot Games. Honestly, that means we’re going to be waiting even longer for early access – it’s a bit of a bummer, but hopefully it’ll be worth it in the end!

Recently, Hypixel showcased a gameplay video of Hytale, highlighting its combat and how players move around the game.

As you can see in the video, a lot of what I’ve built feels pretty familiar – I took a ton of inspiration from Minecraft mods. And the tools I use to create stuff? Yeah, they’re heavily based on Minecraft’s creative mode, so if you’re used to that, you’ll pick this up fast!

We’re excited to finally play the game and see how it evolves after release.
