Please be aware that this article contains spoilers from the Black Clover manga! After nearly 11 years, Yuki Tabata’s Black Clover manga is nearing its end. Since a change in publication in 2023, new chapters have been released a few times a year in Jump GIGA magazine. Three more chapters will arrive in the Winter 2026 issue, expected on January 5th in Japan. U.S. fans can read them on the official Manga Plus app starting January 4th at 10:00 AM EST. This information comes from @WSJ_manga on X, a trusted source for Shonen Jump news, who also confirms these chapters will kick off the manga’s “Super Climax.”
Many popular manga series use the term “Super Climax” to signal they’re nearing the end. For example, Undead Unluck announced its Super Climax last December and finished in January 2025, while Mashle did the same in June 2023, concluding the following month. Demon Slayer and The Promised Neverland both ended in 2020 after using similar announcements. Given this trend, and the fact that the current battle against Lucius Zogratis is almost finished, it’s likely this manga will also conclude around 2026 – which wouldn’t be unexpected.
2026 Will Be an Exciting Year For Black Clover Fans

As the manga nears its conclusion, the anime is scheduled to return in 2026 and will continue adapting the Spade Kingdom Arc. Before the manga finishes, it needs to resolve several key plot points, including what happens after the big battle, the destiny of Julius Novachrono, and whether Asta or Yuno will ultimately become the Wizard King. Asta is already back in action, and the other Magic Knights are also joining the final fight.
As a huge fan, I was so excited to see Black Clover return! The anime originally started back in 2017 and did a great job of keeping up with the manga, actually surpassing it by 2021, but then we had a really long wait – over four years! – for more episodes. To make things even more frustrating, the last season ended on a massive cliffhanger, only covering the very beginning of the Spade Kingdom Arc. But thankfully, it’s coming back, and the new key visual looks absolutely incredible! I’ve been waiting so long, I can’t wait to see what happens next!
Many fans consider the Spade Kingdom Arc the highlight of the manga. It features a major battle where Magic Knights and mages from the Heart Kingdom, after extensive training, attack the Spade Kingdom. Their goal is to defeat the Dark Triad and save Yami Sukehiro and William Vangeance. Although details are limited, the anime is expected to return with updates revealed at Jump Festa 2026, during a special stage presentation with the voice actors.
