Julia Roberts Gives Rare Look at Twins on Their 21st Birthday

Julia Roberts has two important sweethearts in her life.

As a mom, I totally get how special milestones are! Julia Roberts recently shared the sweetest birthday message for her twins, Hazel and Phinnaeus, who just turned 21 with her husband, Danny Moder. It’s amazing how quickly time flies, isn’t it? Seeing your kids reach these big moments is such a joy.

Julia shared on Instagram November 28th how quickly her children have grown up, writing, ‘These game changers, life alterers, heart expanders went from one to twenty-one! That was fast. Happy Birthday my dears!’ She also included a crying emoji in her post.

The 58-year-old shared a cute old photo of Hazel and Phinnaeus as babies. They were sitting in identical highchairs, enjoying a snack, with Hazel smiling at the camera and Phinnaeus looking to the side.

Julia recently reflected on how much life has changed since her and Danny’s children – Hazel, Phinnaeus, and 18-year-old Henry – have all grown up and left home. It’s a big change, especially considering she just turned 21 and married Danny back in 2002.

“It’s all fun, honestly,” she told Stephen Colbert in October. “It is all so delicious.”

She admits it’s hard having the kids away, playfully saying she hopes starting the interview with tears isn’t a good idea.

Julia said she really enjoys being with them and making time for them. She’s grateful they’ve been able to visit often as the children have grown up and left home.

She couldn’t resist praising her children, saying, “I know all parents feel that way, but my kids really are wonderful.”

Oh my gosh, you won’t BELIEVE what she said! Even though her babies are all grown up and flown the nest, she basically admitted she still parents the same way! It’s like, she’s always a mom, you know? It’s just so… her! I’m obsessed with how consistent she is, even with an empty nest. It’s amazing!

As a mom, I approach parenting my grown kids the same way I always have. I’m constantly checking in – asking if they’re getting enough rest, if they’re feeling okay, and if they’re taking care of themselves. I even worry about whether they’re drinking enough tea! But mostly, I just need that quick text letting me know they arrived somewhere safely. It’s just how I show my love and make sure they’re okay, even when they’re out on their own, as I shared on Today in 2023.

I’m so grateful my older children still let me be myself around them,” the 56-year-old shared. “They’re understanding and don’t act embarrassed or dismissive, which means a lot to me.
