I’m Obsessed With This Clip Of Glen Powell’s Co-Stars Being Baffled After Finding Out He’s In College (For Real). Why He’s Committed

I already thought Glen Powell was incredibly busy due to his many upcoming movies and TV shows planned for 2025. But it was even more surprising to learn he’s also currently a student! His co-stars were amazed, and he explained how he balances pursuing a degree with his full-time acting career.

Colman Domingo, who plays the host on the show The Running Man, shared his thoughts on Powell’s background in an interview with Capital.

Honestly, the whole conversation was just a fun, lighthearted exchange. I learned that Glen Powell is actually studying Radio, Television and Film at UT – which was cool! You could tell Clifton Powell Jr. was really impressed to be chatting with him. And when Glen mentioned wanting to give the commencement speech at his graduation, Clifton was totally supportive and encouraging. It was a really sweet moment to witness.

Why Glen Powell Is Committed To Getting His Degree

Glen Powell has had a remarkably busy year, launching the show Chad Powers on Hulu, starring in the film The Running Man, and even starting his own condiment brand, Smash Kitchen. He’s currently filming a new movie with Jenna Ortega directed by J.J. Abrams, with several other projects lined up. It’s amazing how he manages all of this alongside his education!

In an interview with CBS Mornings, he shared his reasons for being so determined to earn a degree, explaining that:

It’s funny, I’m not sure there’s a clear, practical reason why I’m doing this – it’s more of a personal commitment to finishing what I begin. And I have a strong connection to the University of Texas.

He shared that he began his studies in 2007 and now expects to graduate in 2027 – a fitting end to a long journey! But it’s more than just completing a cycle for him; he’s determined to achieve his goal and finally finish what he set out to do, and he went on to explain:

I didn’t want an honorary degree that felt like an easy pass. I wanted to truly earn it – I don’t believe in taking shortcuts. Receiving this degree feels like a fitting conclusion to a journey I began back in 2007.

So, Glen Powell prefers to earn his degree the traditional way – by attending classes and completing assignments. And he’s managing to do all of this while also working as a professional actor.

Like many others, I’m still amazed that Glen Powell manages to be both a college student and a successful actor at the same time.
