The Crystal Extractor in Old School RuneScape (OSRS) is a really helpful tool, but it’s easy to forget about unless you use a plugin to remind you.
This boat regularly produces a Crystal Mote every minute. Collecting it is beneficial, providing you with a free Wind Mote and 600 Sailing XP. It can be easy to overlook, though, as it requires checking every minute.
Fret not, though, because we’ll help you set up a plugin to remind you when it’s ready for harvest!
How to Setup Crystal Extractor Plugin | OSRS
This guide requires the RuneLite client to work. It won’t function without it because a necessary plugin needs to be installed through RuneLite.
If you’re already using RuneLite, open the settings by clicking the wrench icon in the top right corner. Then, go to the plugins section (the plug icon) and search for the “Watchdog (Custom Alerts)” plugin to install it.
After completing that step, navigate to the settings for the Watchdog plugin. You should find it on the sidebar, marked by a bell icon.
Then click on the green plus sign to add a new alert. Select “Game Message” from the drop-down.
Now, give your alert a title – for example, “Extractor Alert.” Next, in the message box, type exactly: “Your crystal extractor has harvested a crystal mote!”. Make sure it matches the example shown.
You can also choose a message directly from your chat history if it’s still available. Simply click the message picker and select the message you want, as illustrated above.
Next, click the green plus sign beside “Notifications.” You can select any notification style you prefer, but choose something you’ll definitely notice. We suggest either “Audio” or “Overlay” as they tend to be the most attention-grabbing.
You’ll now get a notification as soon as your Crystal Extractor is ready to be harvested. It’s that easy!
