As a RuneScape player, I’m really excited about the Sailing skill – you can actually get your own boat! And the coolest part? I can move it and even teleport it around without even being on the water. It’s a total game changer!
This is helpful if you want to travel quickly. It saves time because you can simply summon your boat instead of physically sailing it to your location.
In this quick guide, we’ll tell you about every method to teleport your boat.
How to Move/Teleport Your Boat | OSRS – Sailing Update
Warning About Cargo
Just a heads-up before you move or teleport your boat: if you’re planning to teleport while still on the boat, be sure it’s completely empty first!
Teleporting will cause you to lose everything you’re carrying, no matter how you do it. So, before using any of these methods, be sure to empty your inventory of anything valuable!
With that said, let’s start with the simplest method!
Retrieve Boat at Shipwright
To get your boat back, simply speak with any Shipwright at a dock and choose the ‘Recover Boat’ option. For a small fee, Port Wizard Peter will magically transport your boat right to the dock.
Please keep in mind that the cost will change based on the size and condition of your boat. Larger boats and those with more damage will have a higher fee.
Boat Bottle
The second way to do this requires a Boat Bottle. This item is quite rare and you’ll usually find it by Salvaging. If you’re not playing in Ironman mode, you can also buy one from other players at the Grand Exchange.
After your first use, you can choose which boat to keep inside the bottle. Then, you can use the Bottled Boat at any dock to immediately bring that boat out.
Just a heads up: the Boat Bottle is a one-time use item. You’ll lose it once you get your boat out, so remember that!
Summon Boat
Finally, to complete the last step, you’ll need to reach Magic level 56 and Sailing level 55. Having Construction at level 49 is also helpful.
Once you’ve taken care of those things, you’ll need to open the ship customization menu and build a Teleport Focus on your vessel. Here’s what you’ll need to build it:
- Mahogany Planks x8
- Mithril Nails x32
- Lead Bars x4
- Magic Stone x1
After you construct and position the Teleport Focus on your boat, you can use the Summon Boat spell with it. This spell, found in the standard spellbook, lets you call your boat to any dock you find while exploring.
Casting this spell instantly moves your boat to the nearest dock. It’s quick and easy to use – there are no costs or items needed! However, any cargo on board will be lost when the boat teleports.
So, those are all the ways to move and teleport your boat in Old School RuneScape! Of course, simply sailing isn’t included, as that’s just normal travel.
