Netflix is losing some of its funniest movies soon! After recently adding titles like Frankenstein, The Hangover, and Paddington 2, the streaming service will be removing three all-time great comedies before December 1st. Get ready to say goodbye to these hilarious favorites!
Netflix is removing three popular comedies at the end of November! If you want to watch Adam Sandler’s classic Billy Madison or Mike Myers’ hilarious Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, you only have a few days left, as neither film will be available on other streaming services next month. Eddie Murphy’s Coming to America is also leaving Netflix on November 30th, but you can still watch it on Pluto TV.
Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery Launched One of the Best Comedy Franchises
It’s tough to say goodbye to all three films, but Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery is the biggest loss. Released in 1997 – a great year for comedies like Liar Liar and In & Out – this movie is a hilarious parody of 1960s spy films. It’s full of colorful visuals, non-stop jokes, and plenty of suggestive humor. The film really made Mike Myers a huge comedy star, as he brilliantly played two iconic roles: the cool secret agent Austin Powers and his villain, Dr. Evil. Both characters quickly became famous, giving us memorable catchphrases like “Yeah, baby!” and “One million dollars!”
Following the first Austin Powers movie, two sequels – Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999) and Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002) – were also released. Both are leaving Netflix on November 30th. While the sequels weren’t quite as critically acclaimed as the original, the Austin Powers series is still incredibly funny and a clever send-up of spy films like James Bond. It became a pop culture phenomenon and remains enjoyable even after multiple viewings.
What’s New on Netflix?
Even though some popular comedies like Coming to America, Billy Madison, and all the Austin Powers movies are leaving Netflix, the platform still has plenty of funny options. November brought a bunch of new titles, including comedies like Ace Ventura: Pet Detective and Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls, as well as Charlie’s Angels, Dr. Dolittle, Game Night, and the entire Hangover trilogy. Other additions included Doctor Sleep, I Know What You Did Last Summer, and The Nun II.
