Look, after seeing Michael B. Jordan absolutely kill it in Sinners earlier this year, it’s no shock he’s in high demand. He’s already set to direct and star in a new take on The Thomas Crown Affair, and word is he’s being considered for a Miami Vice reboot alongside Austin Butler. But what everyone really wants to know is: will there be a Creed 4? Jordan just gave us an update, and here’s the scoop.
As a huge fan of the Creed movies, I was thrilled when Michael B. Jordan announced a fourth one back in 2023. Honestly, we haven’t heard much since then, which was a little frustrating! But it sounds like things are finally moving forward, and he’s even talking about building out a whole “Creed-Verse” – which sounds amazing! Here’s what he recently shared with Variety:
I’m definitely open to returning to the franchise – it’s been very good to me. I have a lot of respect for MGM and Irwin Winkler, and I believe there are still stories to tell within that world. I don’t necessarily want to be actively boxing for another decade and a half, but I think we could explore the established characters in interesting ways, and even introduce some new ones. I feel like I could contribute to the franchise a couple more times with some really strong ideas.
Michael B. Jordan has starred in three Creed films, consistently working with director Ryan Coogler. The first movie in the Rocky spinoff series came out in 2015 to positive reviews, followed by sequels in 2018 and 2023.
I remember when the last Creed film came out, a lot of us were surprised by how well it navigated not having Sylvester Stallone as Rocky. One of my colleagues actually made a strong case that the franchise should hold off on Creed 4 for about ten years, given how neatly Creed III tied things up. Adonis was clearly aiming for retirement, so it feels right that, if they do another film, he’d be taking a significant break from boxing before getting back in the ring.
You know, as much as I love the ‘Creed’ movies, I’m starting to wonder if it’s time to introduce a fresh face as the main character. Michael B. Jordan has hinted that ‘Creed IV’ might be a while off, but thankfully, he and the team aren’t just sitting around! They’ve got another exciting project in the works, which is great news for fans like me.
I’m really excited about expanding the ‘Creed’ world! We’re developing a TV show focusing on Adonis’s daughter, Amara, which Amazon picked up. It’s a way to explore different stories within that universe – I call it the ‘Creed-verse’ – and keep things going even after my boxing story wraps up. I won’t be the main focus anymore, but I’ll still be around, involved in a supporting role.

Amazon Prime Video is creating a new series called Delphi, with Michael B. Jordan as a producer. The show will center on young boxers training at the famous Delphi gym, known from the Rocky and Creed films. As Michael B. Jordan shared, the series will introduce Amara, the daughter of Adonis and Bianca Creed, as a rising boxing talent. This seems like a fantastic way to build on the world of the Creed movies.
Everyone would love to see another Creed movie starring Michael B. Jordan and Tessa Thompson. While it might not happen right away – Jordan recently said it could be a while – it’s encouraging to hear he’s already thinking about making it.
