According to reliable sources at Insider Gaming, Ubisoft’s remake of Prince of Persia: Sands of Time is now scheduled to release on January 16th. (Updated December 1st, 2025, 6:15am)
The source initially predicted the release would be around mid-January, and now believes it will happen in just over six weeks.
It’s still unclear if the game’s title will be shown again at The Game Awards, but that timing would make sense if the publisher intends to start taking pre-orders on the PlayStation Store before Christmas.
A shadow drop is also possible but less likely, we suppose.
Everything points to this title being finished and released very soon. It could be a great way to kick off the new year.
More than five years ago, Ubisoft revealed they were rebuilding the popular PlayStation 2 game, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time.
I remember when they first announced the game would be out in January 2021! It was so exciting, but then it just kept getting delayed. Eventually, they actually gave the whole project to a completely different team to finish. It’s been a long road!
Ubisoft previously announced the game would be released before April 2026, and now, according to trusted gaming news source Insider Gaming, we have a more specific timeframe.
According to a reliable source, the game is expected to launch in mid-January, which is just over a month from now.
Some people are guessing we might get a trailer at The Game Awards on December 12th. This would fit with the publisher’s plans if they want to start taking pre-orders and don’t intend to release the game unexpectedly.
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time is considered a classic platformer, celebrated for its innovative ability to control time, which makes it truly stand out.
Are you as thrilled as we are that this remake is almost here? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
