Hilary Farr isn’t loving these claims.
The former star of Love It or List It publicly criticized online posts spreading false information about a serious health issue she was supposedly facing.
Hilary confirmed she was doing well in an Instagram post on November 26th, sharing an AI-generated photo of herself with an oxygen mask. She wrote, “I’m alive – very, very, very much so!” and jokingly commented on the poor quality of the image.
She added, “It’s all just artificial intelligence – pretty amazing, but not real!” She wanted to assure everyone that it was completely fabricated and that she was doing well, just checking in to let them know everything was okay.
Okay, let’s talk about this. I’ve been seeing some concerning claims about a 74-year-old woman – the same woman who bravely shared with us in 2021 that she’d overcome breast cancer and was in remission – and these claims are completely fabricated. I want to address what’s being falsely reported about her.
A doctor treating Hilary Farr’s cancer shared some very upsetting news: according to a screenshot Hilary posted, the doctor said she may never appear on television again and might not recover.
Four years after first publicly sharing her cancer experience, Hilary now supports others going through the same challenges. Recently, as Breast Cancer Awareness Month approached, she offered encouragement to fellow survivors.
In a recent Instagram video, she encouraged everyone to share their experiences, openly discuss the issue, and support each other. Her biggest message was to get screened. She also suggested taking time with friends to talk about it and brainstorm ways to raise awareness and take action during October.
As someone who’s been through it, I really understand how daunting it can be to prioritize health screenings. A few years ago, in 2014, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. It meant going through three lumpectomies and radiation, and honestly, just getting started with the process felt overwhelming. I want people to know it’s okay to feel that way, and taking that first step is so important.
Many women avoid getting screened for breast cancer because they’re afraid, she shared with People magazine in 2021. But she emphasized that facing the issue head-on is important, even though it’s scary. Keeping it hidden or trying to ignore it won’t make things better. If she can encourage even one person to get checked, that would be a meaningful impact.
