Amy Schumer Addresses Speculation About Marriage to Chris Fischer

Amy Schumer is hoping for the best.

With rumors swirling about her relationship with Chris Fischer, the comedian recently shared an update on where she and her husband of seven years are in their marriage.

Okay, so Amy posted this on Instagram, and honestly, I’ve been following their story for ages. She basically said, and it’s SO important, that whatever happens with her and Chris – and I’m crossing my fingers it’s good! – it has nothing to do with his autism or her losing weight. Like, people were clearly trying to connect those things, and she just shut it down. It’s amazing she’s so open about everything, and she really wanted to make that clear – it’s about them, not anything else!

The star of Trainwreck, who shares 6-year-old son Gene with Chris, also said she’s hoping things continue to go well, calling him “the best.”

Amy recently addressed questions about her marriage after fans noticed she wasn’t wearing her wedding ring in her latest Instagram posts, leading to rumors online.

Although the 44-year-old didn’t say much about her relationship, she openly discussed her recent weight loss.

In the same post, Amy explained that she doesn’t wear jewelry and corrected a previous statement about her weight loss – she’d actually lost 50 pounds, not 30. She clarified that her motivation wasn’t about appearance, though she admitted enjoying feeling good temporarily. Her main goal was survival; she had a serious medical condition causing severe facial swelling that could be life-threatening, but it was detected and successfully treated thanks to online awareness.

Along with discussing her Cushing Syndrome, which she first shared in 2024, Amy also talked about how people reacted to her changing appearance.

She addressed any concerns about her weight loss, explaining that she’s had plastic surgery in the past and currently uses the medication Mounjaro.

I’m so thrilled to hear she’s finally pain-free! It’s amazing – she’s even playing tag with her son, Gene! She’s been so open about everything and said she’s happy to answer any questions anyone might have about how she’s doing, both physically and emotionally. It’s just wonderful to see her so happy and healthy.

On November 11th, Amy posted a photo on Instagram showing her weight loss. Shortly after, she removed all of her older posts, but explained it wasn’t because she was embarrassed by how she used to look.

She explained on Instagram that she hadn’t deleted her older photos because they showed her before her weight loss. She clarified that the idea she had deleted them was something others had assumed, and that she’s always been proud of her appearance.

As for what sparked the change up to her grid?

She pointed out that Instagram isn’t a true reflection of who you are, but rather a carefully chosen presentation of how you want to be seen. She also shared that she feels good, strong, and beautiful, and has enjoyed sharing that with others.

She also continues to share heartwarming family content online. Recently, her son Gene playfully interrupted one of her photoshoots, and she captured the adorable moment.

As Amy captioned the Nov. 30 post, “Trying to go to the party but someone won’t go to bed.”

She expressed immense gratitude for the support of her friends, some of whom she’d known for 30 years, who encouraged her throughout. She was amazed by how quickly the sickness vanished after giving birth, just as everyone told her it would. She also thanked the many women who offered help and advice, feeling empowered by their strength, and specifically mentioned her family members Chris, Gene, and Tatiana.
