Where Winds Meet New Update 1.008 Flies Out on December 2

Everstone has released a new update for their popular free-to-play game, Where Winds Meet, and it’s available now on all platforms. The update, labeled version 1.008 (full version 1.008.000), focuses on bug fixes and improvements rather than adding new features.

The most important issue to address is the audio problem on consoles, but it will likely take more than one update to fully resolve.

We’re also planning some improvements to the user interface for both consoles and PC, and you can find details about those below.

Where Winds Meet December 2 Update Live on Consoles and PC as Version 1.008

Audio Issues

Bug Fixes:

1. Fixed incorrect voice lines in the Jianghu Journey CG.

2. Fixed the issue of missing music during the cutscene: Reforging Coins.

3. Fixed audio-visual sync issues in some scenes.

4. The issue of missing sound issue on Consoles will be addressed gradually this week.

We’ve added new dubbing and are working to fix any problems where the audio doesn’t quite match the video. You can expect more improvements to dubbing and voiceovers to be released this week!

Upcoming UI Optimizations:

1. Dialogue: Subtitle optimization by fixing text overflow and adjusting the font size.

2. Text in the open-world: optimizes text display to avoid too much text from appearing at once.

3. Kaifeng Tour Map interface: Localizes into multiple languages.

4. Healer interface: optimizes layout and display.

Okay, so I noticed the Equipment Tuning screen had some text spilling over the edges, which was annoying. I’ve fixed that, and I also made sure the names of those musical note items – Gong, Shang, Jiao, Zhi, and Yu – display correctly in all languages. It just looks cleaner now when you’re tweaking your gear!

We plan to release user interface improvements on January 9th with the V1.2 update. We’ve also heard your feedback that the menu is confusing, and we’re actively working on making it easier to use. We’ll share these updates as soon as they’re ready.

I’m really glad to hear the developers, Everstone, are working on fixing the lag in single-player! They’ve shared some of the changes they’re planning, but it looks like we won’t be getting those in today’s update. Hopefully, we’ll see them in a patch coming up around mid-December.

  • For network connectivity, we’ve fixed the routing issue that caused some players in Europe, the Middle East, and certain regions to be connected to non-local servers, resulting in high latency. We will continue to monitor post-fix data and player reports to ensure optimal performance.
  • The issue of high network latency in Online mode has been resolved, and the issue in Solo mode is expected to be fixed in the mid-December update.
  • Regarding text localization and voiceovers, we’ve revised many translations to make them more idiomatic and easier to understand. Additionally, we’ve optimized dubbing and subtitles in various story quests. We will continue to refine the localization of the game to make the Jianghu more immersive.
  • In terms of the interface, we’ve improved the beginner tutorial, enhanced character customization, and refined English clues for puzzle-solving quests.

We’re also working on updates for the PlayStation 5 to improve how smoothly the game runs, its overall stability, and how it looks. We’ve also shared plans for future features, including support for PSSR technology on the PS5 Pro.

Once another patch is out, expect it here on esXX
