Now that TV listings for Christmas 2025 are set, viewers of ‘The Good Ship Murder’ can find out when the new holiday special will be on.
The new episode will premiere on Channel 5 at 9pm on Saturday, December 27th, and it hints at a possible romantic connection between Kate and Jack.
This special takes place in Alicante and follows Donna, a woman who says she has a serious illness, as she embarks on a cruise with her friend Bernie. During the trip, Donna connects with a passenger named Gary and hopes for a Christmas miracle, leading her to visit a secluded monastery.
That’s where I first encountered Rodriguez, a really intriguing priest, and Thomasina, a nun who kept everyone guessing. Honestly, things took a turn for the worse quickly when Bernie was discovered dead, and the festive atmosphere vanished.
As Gary, Rodriguez, and Thomasina all come under investigation, the search for answers reveals a complex tangle of lies and increasingly desperate actions. The eventual truth completely changes the team’s understanding of what happened.
Jack, having just lost his job on the ship, is now playing to small crowds in a rundown bar. When a murder occurs at the monastery, Kate reconnects with him, and with Jamil’s assistance, they might finally get back together. As Christmas approaches, will Jack find his way back to the ship, and will he be able to share a Christmas song with the crew?
Shayne Ward and Catherine Tyldesley are returning as Jack and Kate, and several other familiar faces – including Zak Douglas, Geoffrey Breton, Ross Adams, Kiza Deen, James Barriscale, and Yuna Shin – will also be back in the cast.
The special episode will also feature appearances by Lesley Dunlop, Joelle Dyson, Luis Soto, Gary Lucy, Rebecca Harland, Greta Holland, and Michelle Holmes.
For the second year running, ‘The Good Ship Murder’ has released a Christmas special, and the show will be back for a third season in 2026.
