Fall 2025 promises to be a huge season for anime fans. It will feature the conclusion of the popular series My Hero Academia after ten years, and the return of One-Punch Man. There’s a lot of excitement for One-Punch Man’s new season, especially since fans weren’t happy with the last one. Even the director of Season 3 admitted there were issues, so expectations are very high for the comeback.
Unfortunately, Season 3 of One-Punch Man didn’t live up to expectations, and many fans felt it was even worse than Season 2. They shared their disappointment by giving each episode low ratings on IMDb, ultimately leading to One-Punch Man Season 3 Episode 6 becoming the lowest-rated anime episode in the site’s history with a score of just 1.4. Although things seemed bleak, the most recent episode has offered a glimmer of hope, but it also brought a recurring problem with the season back into focus.
One-Punch Man Season 3 Finally Delivers a High-Quality Episode
Season 3, Episode 8 of One Punch Man is easily the strongest episode yet, delivering eight minutes of intense, non-stop action. The combination of 3D and 2D animation is particularly well done. I’d give it an 8.5/10.

The latest episode of One-Punch Man, Season 3 Episode 8, “Ninja Tale,” is remarkably well-animated. Continuing the story of the S-Class heroes battling the Monster Association, the episode finally showcases the incredibly fast character Flashy Flash with dynamic and detailed animation that perfectly captures his abilities. As Flashy Flash explores the monster hideout, he demonstrates his unmatched speed, quickly defeating enemies until he meets two opponents who share a similar background and challenge him to a fight.
This episode features the longest and most impressively animated fight scene of the season, demonstrating a clear improvement in quality. Viewers have responded positively, giving it a strong 6.7 rating (and rising) on IMDb. The energetic music also deserves praise, as it perfectly complements the fast-paced action and makes the fight even more exciting.
This episode demonstrates that Season 3 of One-Punch Man simply needed a well-made adaptation. If all the episodes had been this good, the anime wouldn’t have become infamous for its production issues. Unfortunately, after the exciting fight with Flashy Flash, the quality dips significantly. The animation during Child Emperor’s scene feels rushed and noticeably worse. Even when Season 3 does deliver a strong episode, it only emphasizes how inconsistent the series has been. At this point, it’s hard to imagine the anime regaining fans’ trust without a complete restart.
