Ronin Warriors 2026 Reboot Finally Gets Release Date: Watch the Trailer

After 40 years, a reboot of the classic anime Ronin Warriors (originally known as Yoroiden Samurai Troopers in Japan) is officially happening! A new trailer has just been released, and we now have a release date: January 2026. This won’t be a remake, but a sequel continuing the story from the original series, and it’s being created by the same studio that made Mobile Suit Gundam.

I’m so excited for the new Ronin Warriors series! It’s going to follow a fresh group of warriors battling the demon lord, and thankfully, we don’t have to wait much longer to see it. They just dropped a new trailer and poster giving us the best look at the anime yet, and it’s coming out in January as part of a pretty packed Winter 2026 anime season. You can check out the trailer below – I’ve already watched it a few times!

What to Know for New Ronin Warriors

The highly anticipated sequel to Ronin Warriors will premiere in Japan on January 6th as part of the Winter 2026 anime season. Yoichi Fujita will direct the series, with Sunrise handling animation. Shogo Muto is writing the scripts, and Yuhei Murota, Tsukasa Kotoboki, Hideo Okamoto, and Takuya Suzuki are designing the characters. Shuji Katayama is composing the music. The opening theme song, “YOAKE,” will be performed by blank paper, and the ending theme, “POWER,” will be performed by ONE OR EIGHT.

Currently, there’s no news on when this new series will be available internationally, but you can stream the original series on Crunchyroll. The anime’s voice cast includes Hiiro Ishibashi as Gai, Junya Enoki as Kaito Uesugi, Ayumu Murase as Musashi Hojo, Shunsuke Takeuchi as Yamato Hojo, and Kentaro Kumagai as Shion Ishida. The latest trailer also reveals more cast members, including Katsuyuki Konishi as Ramaga, Takuya Sato as Sasuke, Kosuke Toriumi as Saizo, Takuma Terashima as Kamanosuke, Tomokazu Sugita as Seikai Nyudo, Kohei Amasaki as Isa Nyudo, and others.

Why You Should Watch This Reboot

Ronin Warriors was a popular action series from the 1980s that gained a large fanbase. Originally successful in Japan, it became even more popular after being translated into English. The English version included some changes to the original, including a new name, but these changes helped the show reach a global audience. Now, 40 years after it first aired, fans are excited about the reboot.

This anime is a fast-paced fantasy show with exciting transformations and superpowers – something you don’t see often. It’s a really original series, and the sequel has the potential to reach a much wider audience. Whether it becomes a major hit when it’s released in Winter 2026 remains to be seen.
