It’s become increasingly hard for Pokémon fans to find cards in stores. High demand, combined with people reselling them for profit and limited supply, means cards sell out quickly. The recent Scarlet & Violet – Prismatic Evolutions set, especially those featuring Eevee, has been particularly difficult to find. While a restock was planned for GameStop on December 12th, fans are disappointed to learn the cards won’t be sold at the price they expected.
GameStop is planning to have more of the Prismatic Evolutions Pokemon cards available starting December 12th. Several items, including the Mini Tins and Super Premium Collection, are currently listed on their website with that release date. While Pokemon card prices at GameStop are often higher than suggested retail price—usually $10 to $20 more—the Super Premium Collection has recently seen a significant price increase just before the restock.
GameStop Planning to Charge Over Double MSRP for Prismatic Evolutions Restock
The restock of the Eevee-focused Prismatic Evolutions set on December 12th comes at a great time for anyone planning to give it as a holiday gift. Prices for most items in the restock were recently standard for GameStop. However, as noted by the Pokemon TCG restock tracker @PokeTCGAlerts, GameStop’s website now shows a new, and potentially significant, price for the Super Premium Collection.
GameStop originally planned to restock the Prismatic Evolutions Pokémon Trading Card Game set for $99 on December 12th – a really great price. Unfortunately, they’ve now doubled the price to $199.99 just a week before the release. It’s a letdown, but not totally unexpected.

I checked the GameStop website to verify this, and as of today, the Prismatic Evolutions Super Premium Collection is listed for $199.99 (or $189.99 for GameStop Pro members). While the manufacturer’s suggested retail price is $89.99, and it was previously listed for $99.99, GameStop is now charging more than double the original price for this Eevee Pokemon card set.
The Super Premium collection is very popular, largely because it comes with an Eevee deck box. It’s not clear why GameStop has significantly raised the price, though. One possibility is they’re expecting a smaller restock and want to make the product last longer. Another reason could be to discourage bots and resellers from quickly buying up all the online stock, as they’ve done in the past, by setting a much higher price than the manufacturer’s suggested retail price.

It’s difficult to know what’s happening with the upcoming GameStop restock of Prismatic Evolutions until December 12th, or until GameStop officially comments. Once people visit stores on the 12th, we’ll be able to tell if the online price is correct, a mistake, or a way to prevent bots from buying everything up.
Regarding the other products in the Prismatic Evolutions line, the news is better. The Mini Tins, also expected back on December 12th, are still priced around $15.99, which is about $5 more than the usual retail price. Most of the other items are currently out of stock, but they’re still showing their normal prices. However, the Elite Trainer Box (ETB) has a price that isn’t displayed until you try to add it to your cart. Since it’s out of stock, we can’t see the price, and it’s uncertain if or when it will be available again with the rest of the Prismatic Evolutions products.
Customers have reacted with frustration to the recent price increase, which seems like a sudden change from GameStop. Many are comparing this to the practices of scalpers, who are known for inflating prices on popular Pokemon TCG products. Hopefully, the price will return to a reasonable level before the Prismatic Evolutions Super Premium Collection is released on December 12th.
