Mila Kunis didn’t expect to find her husband in Point Place, Wisconsin.

She certainly never expected it to be her That ’70s Show co-star, Ashton Kutcher. They didn’t fall for each other until years after working together, which surprised everyone who knew them.

Mila recently told WSJ. Style that no one could have predicted this situation. “If anyone claims they saw this coming, they’re not telling the truth,” she said in an interview published on December 1st. She explained that both her parents and she were completely surprised, and no one anticipated this outcome at any point.

If anyone had told her that, she would have vehemently denied it, saying something like, “What are you even talking about? That’s impossible.”

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher, who were married to Demi Moore from 2005 until their separation in 2011 and eventual divorce in 2013, ran into each other again nearly six years after their TV show ended, at the 2012 Golden Globe Awards.

Mila said she immediately felt a change when she reunited with her former on-screen love interest, noticing things were different from how they used to be.

It’s hard to describe, but we hadn’t seen each other face-to-face in about three to five years,” she said. “We always stayed in contact, checking in on each other regularly. Then we bumped into each other at an awards ceremony, and we both found the other attractive.

Mila and Ashton got married in 2015 and share two children, 11-year-old Wyatt and 9-year-old Dimitri. After ten years of marriage, people are curious about how they’ve maintained a strong relationship.

In an October 2024 interview with TopMob News, she explained that she and her partner still feel like they have a youthful energy. She believes this shared sense of fun and lightness is what keeps their connection strong, saying they find humor in everything.

Although she’s happy their friendship turned into a loving relationship, she doesn’t think it’s anything extraordinary.

“Ten years isn’t a very long time,” Mila said. “My parents have been together for fifty years, and that’s a long relationship.”

For Ashton’s part, their sweet family of four is the greatest award in his life.

In a February 2023 interview with TopMob, he shared that being a father and husband is his most fulfilling role. He expressed immense happiness with his life, emphasizing how much he enjoys time with his children and loves his wife.

While on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the actress explained the real reason she and Ashton Kutcher did the Cheetos Super Bowl 2021 commercial featuring Shaggy. She said they just needed a little time away from their kids!

It didn’t really make sense at the time, with everything happening during the height of the pandemic,” Kunis said. “I was just desperate to leave the house.

Kunis then joked, “I got two days off from my kids, I’m a horrible mom!”

Kunis’ biggest parenting fail? 

In a 2021 appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Mila Kunis shared a story that she thought might get her into trouble. She explained that a child at her daughter’s preschool had pushed her daughter, and wasn’t being very nice.

Mila Kunis immediately asked their daughter, Wyatt, if she had defended herself by pushing the other child, but Ashton Kutcher disagreed with this approach.

Kunis explained that she told her daughter, ‘If someone pushes you, push them back, and firmly say ‘No, thank you’ before walking away.’ She then added with a laugh, ‘While you shouldn’t push someone off a ladder, swing, or slide, it’s okay to push back on the ground. Otherwise, it’s a parenting mistake!’

Do you remember when Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher went viral in 2021 after talking about how they handle personal hygiene with their kids—or rather, how little they do?

Mila Kunis shared on the Armchair Expert podcast that she didn’t bathe her children daily, and actually didn’t bathe her newborns at all. Ashton Kutcher chimed in, explaining their parenting philosophy: only wash kids when you can actually see dirt on them.

Kunis and Kutcher have established open-door policy at home. Literally.

If anyone is surprised by Mila Kunis sharing that personal detail, she gets it. She herself never imagined she’d be comfortable enough to use the restroom with the door open.

Kunis just can’t hang like she used to and she’ll be the first to admit it. 

In a 2017 interview with TopMob News, Mila Kunis recounted a dinner with friends a month prior. She explained that she got home around 10:30 PM and had taken three doses of penicillin – which she jokingly called a ‘delicious beverage.’ She then added with a laugh that she had only had three drinks and was therefore ‘a very cheap date.’

But what about wild date nights with her husband?

She laughed and said, “Date night can’t get too crazy when you’ve got kids! You’re still hearing ‘Mom!’ at 7 AM, and you’re thinking, ‘Wait, I just got up!”

Mila Kunis described herself and Ashton Kutcher as playful and silly parents. Speaking on the Teach Me Something New podcast in 2020, she explained they aren’t necessarily skilled at parenting, but simply comfortable being goofy with their kids. She believes this comes from being confident and comfortable with who they are, and not worrying about looking foolish.

This also means occasionally doing things you’d rather not, like dressing up in a costume to make your child happy – something Mila Kunis did one Halloween.

One of the challenges of parenting, as she described to Jimmy Kimmel in 2017, is that you often end up doing what your kids tell you to do. You learn to choose your fights, and sometimes just give in. She recounted trying to steer her daughter away from wanting to be a princess, suggesting superheroes instead. But her daughter insisted, ‘No, Mom! I’m going to be Cinderella!’ and the mom admitted she reacted with a bit of dismay, thinking, ‘Eww, gross! Okay!’

Wyatt asked Mila Kunis to dress up as Elsa from Frozen, but Kunis initially refused. She joked, ‘I told him, ‘No way, Mommy isn’t Elsa!” But she eventually gave in. ‘I ended up doing it,’ she said. ‘I even wore a blonde wig!’

Although Mila Kunis wasn’t thrilled about dressing up as the Ice Queen for Halloween, she did learn a valuable lesson from playing Elsa: embrace the ‘Let it go’ philosophy!

She told Glamour that it’s important to remember children are their own people, with personalities that develop independently. She shared that her daughter is naturally kind and affectionate, wanting to hug everyone, and that this isn’t something she taught her. She’s come to understand that parents can’t control everything about their children.

While jokingly talking about her daughter with Ellen DeGeneres, Kunis said she’d still love her even if she committed a serious crime. She explained that it’s strange, but she felt an overwhelming sense of joy and love the moment her daughter was born – the best thing that had ever happened to her.

Mila Kunis took a break from acting after having her son, Wyatt, in 2014, and she confessed she was very emotional – she even cried – when she went back to work.

In a 2020 interview with Vanity Fair, Kunis shared that she wasn’t concerned with what others thought about her choices. She feels it’s unfair that women face criticism for openly embracing their sexuality, especially considering how much society focuses on breasts. She understands people have different viewpoints on public displays of this, and believes those who are uncomfortable with it simply shouldn’t watch.

Putting pressure on herself to have it all? Hard pass.

“Balance is a myth,” Mila Kunis said to TopMob News at the 2016 premiere of Bad Moms. “It’s just not a real thing.”

Kunis shared that she usually only acts in one film each year so she can prioritize spending time with her children.

Mila shared with Extra in November 2025 that she and Ashton don’t work when their children are at school or away from home. They prioritize being available for their kids during those times.

They might sometimes bend the rules of their arrangement, but one commitment always holds true: we always support each other and are present for one another.
