Even though December has just begun, Netflix is already having a great holiday season. The first part of Stranger Things 5 was watched by a huge 59.6 million people in its first week, making it the biggest premiere week ever for an English-language show on the platform. The next three episodes will be released on Christmas Day, and are expected to be very popular, with the final episodes arriving on the 31st. But Stranger Things isn’t the only hit – KPop Demon Hunters has continued to perform well, gaining another 10.4 million views in its 24th week and becoming the longest-running film on Netflix.
Although HUNTR/X received a remarkable 10.4 million views, it didn’t quite reach the number one position for the week of November 24th to 30th. The new holiday-themed film, Jingle Bell Heist, took the top spot instead.
What Is Jingle Bell Heist About & How Many People Watched It?

In the movie Jingle Bell Heist, Olivia Holt, known from Heart Eyes, plays Sophie Arbus, a young woman working two jobs to care for her mother who is battling cancer. When those jobs aren’t enough, she starts stealing – first a diamond-studded dog collar from an unpleasant customer, and then some cash from the store. Witnessing this is Nick O’Connor, played by Connor Swindells from Sex Education, who previously installed the store’s security system but was fired for stealing himself.
O’Connor forces Sophie to steal valuable jewelry from the department store, but they discover the security locker is already empty. This seemingly failed attempt actually kicks off the real scheme, revealing that neither thief is what they appear. The person who now has the money may be someone both Sophie and O’Connor have encountered before.
This enjoyable Christmas film, Ocean’s Eleven, works well thanks to the strong connection between the main actors, its playful but engaging story, and great performances from Lucy Punch (known from Bad Teacher) and Peter Serafinowicz (Guardians of the Galaxy). Nearly 19.3 million viewers watched it during the last week of November, and it’s expected to remain popular as Christmas approaches.
After a strong start, Jingle Bell Heist continued to perform well, and Champagne Problems, starring Minka Kelly, Tom Wozniczka, and Flula Borg, had a very solid second week, gaining 14.4 million viewers. KPop came in third, followed by In Your Dreams with 9.3 million views. Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein took fifth place, attracting 7.3 million more viewers. The top ten was completed by Train Dreams, The Carman Family Deaths, A Merry Little Ex-Mas, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, and A Man Called Otto.
