As a huge fan of the show, I’m so excited for this year’s Beyond Paradise Christmas special! It looks like Humphrey and Martha are finally getting married – not just Christmas cheer, but wedding bells too! It’s wonderful news.
The couple, who originally met while working on the show Death in Paradise before Humphrey moved to the UK to be with Martha, are pictured looking adoringly at each other as he puts a ring on her finger.
They very nearly tied the knot in season 2, but it all became “too much” for Martha.
“It feels like things are spiraling out of control, like this isn’t even about our wedding anymore,” she told her mother, Anne. Anne had been so eager to help plan their big day that she’d taken over completely.
“Our wedding day should be about what we want, and it doesn’t feel that way.”
This sparked a tense argument between Anne and her mother, which led Anne to cancel everything. Meanwhile, Humphrey and Martha were relieved to postpone their wedding plans.
It appears they’re finally getting married in the upcoming special, with photos showing their loved ones celebrating their wedding.
And that’s not all you can expect in this years festive episode.

Humphrey and his colleagues are incredibly busy when a man with amnesia reaches out – he’s found with a picture of the detective in his hand, and can’t remember who he is.
Meanwhile, with Anne and Zoe’s assistance, and a surprise visitor, Martha works hard to execute her secret scheme. At the same time, Kelby attempts to help a man stuck inside a snowman suit.
With surprise guests arriving, a sudden rise in holiday crimes, and a touching family moment approaching, the team has a lot on their plate. Can they handle everything and still be prepared for a major discovery?
The popular detective series is bringing back its entire main cast, including Kris Marshall and Sally Bretton as DI Humphrey Goodman and Martha Lloyd. Joining them will be Zahra Ahmadi, Dylan Llewellyn, Barbara Flynn, Felicity Montagu, Jamie Bamber, and Melina Sinadinou, who play DS Esther Williams, PC Kelby Hartford, Anne Lloyd, Margo Martins, Archie Hughes, and Zoe Williams respectively.
This year’s show will feature guest appearances by Adrian Edmondson, known for his role in ‘Alien: Earth’; James Lance, who starred in ‘Ted Lasso’; and Jonny Weldon from ‘One Day’.
You can watch the Beyond Paradise Christmas special on BBC One and iPlayer starting December 21st at 9pm, and again on December 28th at 8:30pm.
