CD Projekt RED is Continuing to Grow its Development Teams by Hiring for Major Roles

CD Projekt RED, the company behind The Witcher 4 and the upcoming sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, has been steadily expanding its development teams. They recently announced on social media that they are hiring for a variety of key positions at their Warsaw studio, including roles for VFX artists, video team leaders, and a director of business systems development.

CD Projekt RED is currently hiring for several positions, including Director of Business Systems Development, Video Team Director, Game Capture Lead, Lead and Senior VFX Artists, and Narrative Designers specializing in open-world content. Although the studio hasn’t specified which games these roles will support, the accompanying job posting images featured characters from both The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077, suggesting work on those popular franchises.

Felix Pedulla, a former senior artist at Larian Studios known for his work on games like Baldur’s Gate 3 and Hunt: Showdown (previously at Crytek), recently announced he’s joined CD Projekt RED to contribute to the development of The Witcher 4.

Pedulla announced the start of a new chapter in their career after six exciting years at Larian Studios. They expressed deep gratitude for the creative and memorable experiences shared with the team, highlighting the strong bonds and valuable lessons learned. Pedulla thanked their wonderful colleagues and friends for everything.

I’m excited to share that I’m starting a new chapter as a Senior Cinematic Designer at CD Projekt Red! It’s a dream to join such an innovative studio and help create amazing games. I’m swapping my Dungeons & Dragons dice for a chance to work on some truly epic cutscenes!

So, CD Projekt RED seems to be building up their teams for a faster release schedule of Witcher games after The Witcher 4 comes out. I heard their co-CEO, Michał Nowakowski, talking about this in a recent conference. He also sounded really happy with how things are going with Unreal Engine 5, which is awesome to hear!

When asked if using Unreal Engine 5 would speed up development, he confirmed they still aim to release all three planned Witcher games within six years. This means they’re planning to shorten the time between releases – so less time between The Witcher 4 and The Witcher 5, The Witcher 5 and The Witcher 6, and so forth.

The next Witcher game is in development for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, but it likely won’t be revealed at The Game Awards 2025.
