Rebecca Gayheart Kisses Peter Morton After Eric Dane Breakup

Rebecca Gayheart was spotted on a date with her boyfriend while her family deals with a difficult and sad situation.

Actress Rebecca Gayheart, known from Beverly Hills, 90210, was seen kissing Peter Morton, a cofounder of the Hard Rock Cafe, as they left the E-Baldi restaurant in Beverly Hills on December 3rd. This was just weeks after she publicly discussed the status of her relationship with her husband, Eric Dane, as he continues to battle ALS.

John Gayheart, 54, and Robert Morton, 78, have been a couple since 2023. They’ve been seen together a few times, including at a pre-Oscars dinner hosted by Chanel and Charles Finch in Beverly Hills this past March.

Rose McGowan recently enjoyed a night out, following her public discussion about her relationship with Eric, who revealed he has ALS in April.

On the November 17th episode of the Broad Ideas with Rachel Bilson and Olivia Allen podcast, Gayheart – who shares daughters Billie, 15, and Georgia, 13, with her ex-partner – explained that she and her family consistently support each other, regardless of the circumstances. She emphasized that he is family and the girls’ father.

Rose Byrne’s newest project arrives soon after she publicly discussed her relationship with her husband, Dane, following his diagnosis with ALS.

On the November 17th episode of the Broad Ideas with Rachel Bilson and Olivia Allen podcast, Gayheart shared that she wants to demonstrate unwavering support for those she cares about. She emphasized that the person in question is like family, stating, ‘He is your father.’

The actress, who previously filed for divorce from Eric after seven years of marriage but later dropped the case just before he revealed his health issues, explained that they simply try to handle difficult times ‘with dignity and grace, and just get through it.’ She added that they’ll do their best to cope.

Since splitting up, Eric has been seeing other people and was recently spotted with filmmaker Janell Shirtcliff in June. They went to the Los Angeles premiere of his new movie, Countdown, which is available on Prime Video.

TopMob News contacted representatives for Dane and Shirtcliff to ask about their relationship, but didn’t receive a response.

While continuing to act and pursue his career, Eric, known from Grey’s Anatomy, is also helping to raise awareness about ALS, the disease he is battling.

As one of his dedicated followers, I’ve been deeply moved by what he shared recently. He explained that he feels a strong need to share his experiences with everyone he can, because his life isn’t just about him anymore. He admitted he wishes it was, but he knows that wouldn’t allow him to keep moving forward. In fact, he described this feeling – the need to connect and share – as a driving force in his life, something that actually keeps him going.

As Eric’s journey continues, read on for his story, in his own words.

While continuing to act and pursue his career, Eric, known from Grey’s Anatomy, is also helping to raise awareness about ALS, the disease he’s battling.

Look, I have to share everything, everything, with anyone who will listen. It’s just… it doesn’t feel like my life is even mine anymore, you know? Honestly, I wish it was all about me – wouldn’t that be amazing? – but I can’t even think like that. If I tried to focus on just myself, I don’t think I could keep going. This… this whole thing, it’s become what drives me, it’s what keeps me moving forward. It’s everything.

Eric Dane revealed he received a diagnosis of ALS, also called Lou Gehrig’s disease, in April 2025.

Dane shared with People magazine that he has been diagnosed with ALS. He expressed gratitude for the support of his family as they face this new challenge together.

Despite his recent diagnosis, the Euphoria actor confirmed he wasn’t retiring from acting. He announced in April 2025 that he was still filming the last season of the HBO show.

Dane, whose new Amazon MGM Studios series Countdown premiered this summer, shared that acting has helped him stay mentally focused while dealing with health challenges.

He told TopMob News in June 2025 that he generally enjoys his work. While he’s faced some challenges, he remains optimistic and positive, and that’s what’s most important to him.

Two months after revealing he was diagnosed, the former Grey’s Anatomy star openly discussed his experience, including the signs that first led him to seek medical attention.

In June 2025, Dane told Diane Sawyer on Good Morning America that he first noticed weakness in his right hand. He didn’t think much of it at first, assuming it was just from texting too much or being tired. However, a few weeks later, he realized the weakness was getting worse.

After nine months of doctor’s visits – seeing two hand specialists and two neurologists – Dane received a diagnosis of ALS.

The father of two said he’d never forget receiving those three letters. They weigh heavily on his mind from the moment he wakes up, and it’s a harsh reality, not a bad dream.

He explained how the rare disease has impacted his physical health and shared his expectations for how it will worsen over time.

During his conversation with Sawyer, Dane explained that the left side of his body is still working, but the right side has lost all function. He worries he may also lose use of his left hand in the next couple of months, which he finds deeply unsettling.

After more than 20 years of marriage, Rebecca Gayheart has been supporting her husband, Dane, through his recent health challenges. The couple had previously filed for divorce in 2018, but Rebecca requested the case be dismissed in March.

During his interview with Sawyer, Dane explained that he speaks with Rebecca daily. They’ve grown closer as friends and parents, and he considers her his strongest advocate and the person he relies on most.

According to Gayheart, she and Dane are the “best of friends.”

The Beverly Hills, 90210 star told TopMob News on April 9, 2025, that they have a strong co-parenting relationship. They’ve found a way to successfully remain a family, which is really benefiting both their children and themselves.

As someone who’s followed Dane and Gayheart’s journey, it’s been beautiful watching their daughters, Billie and Georgia, grow up. But I’ve also heard Dane open up about the really tough stuff – how heartbreaking it is to see his ALS impacting the people he loves most. It’s a raw and honest admission, and it really highlights the ripple effect that a diagnosis like this can have on a whole family. He’s acknowledging the pain and frustration, and that takes a lot of courage.

The actor shared during an interview with GMA that he’s struggling with anger related to losing his father at a young age. He’s now facing the possibility of being separated from his own daughters while they’re still young, which is deeply upsetting to him. Ultimately, he just wants to be with his family and continue working when he can.

Dane was scheduled to present at the 2025 Emmys with his Grey’s Anatomy co-star, Jesse Williams, on September 14th, but he couldn’t make it. He later revealed that he had to go to the hospital, which caused him to miss the award show.

In an interview with The Washington Post on October 2nd, he explained that he was hospitalized receiving stitches during the Emmys due to a serious illness – ALS. He described ALS as a difficult disease.

“I was a really upset about it,” Dane added. “But you know, there was nothing I could do about it.”

I was absolutely thrilled to hear that Dane actually met with doctors and people from I Am ALS back in September 2025! And get this – he even talked to Congressman Eric Swalwell about getting more federal money for ALS research! It’s amazing he’s using his voice to fight this horrible disease, especially since there’s still no cure. I’m so proud of him for pushing for more funding – every little bit helps!

In a TikTok video shared by Representative Swalwell on September 29th, Dane said, “I want to live a full life.” He explained he has two daughters and hopes to see them graduate college, get married, and potentially have children of their own.
