Channing Tatum stepped up forStephen “tWitch” Boss.
Channing Tatum, known for his role in Magic Mike, attended the Dance Hall of Fame Ceremony in Los Angeles on December 3rd to pay tribute to a dancer who had passed away. He became emotional while remembering their close relationship.
Honestly, watching Channing speak was incredibly emotional. He actually started to cry while telling the audience, as reported by People, that he’d vowed not to. He explained that tWitch just constantly made him laugh, and saying it’s an honor to talk about him doesn’t even begin to cover how much it means. It was really touching to see how deeply he felt about him.
The man, age 45, said he hesitated to speak about Stephen because many others likely knew him much better and for a longer time. He was fortunate enough to work with Stephen for a significant period.
Channing and Stephen appeared in the 2015 film Magic Mike XXL, and Channing remembers Stephen as someone who was deeply passionate and caring.
“He just loves so big,” Channing gushed, “and that’s why he just shines so much.”
Channing was consistently impressed by Stephen’s dancing talent, especially considering Stephen’s background on So You Think You Can Dance.
I just couldn’t understand how someone so large and graceful could move the way he did,” he explained. “I was a bigger guy myself, and it was hard to imagine being able to move like that. Then he’d start being funny, which honestly annoyed me. I thought, ‘Wait a minute!’ But then he’d smile, and you’d fall for him. That was just Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss.

Channing playfully admitted he admired the dancer, explaining that it was understandable because Stephen had charmed everyone.
Channing explained that this person inspired you to improve in any area of your life. He fully accepted you, no matter your current self, your aspirations, or your future path. He genuinely wanted to support you and be present for you.
And the Roofman actor had an idea as to why he and Stephen bonded so quickly.
He thought they probably connected because they both grew up in Alabama. He also jokingly added, “Roll Tide!” and figured his counterpart probably said it right back and was probably amused by him at that moment.
Channing said it was a privilege to have known him and that he cherished their friendship, expressing his belief they would meet again.

Stephen was posthumously inducted into the Dance Hall of Fame three years after his death in December 2022 at the age of 40. Since then, his wife, Allison Holker, and their children – Weslie (17), Maddox (9), and Zaia (6) – have continued to celebrate his life and memory, including a recent tribute on what would have been his 43rd birthday.
In a September Instagram post, Allison wished Stephen a happy birthday, writing, “We love you and still feel all your love.” She shared that the family honored him by enjoying some of his favorite activities: Korean BBQ, a visit to a comic book store, and cookies and cream.
She added, “Sending you all our love and support and appreciate yours.”

What an amazing ten years! I moved to Los Angeles with Weslie, found love with Stephen, got married, and we traveled the world together. I’m so grateful for the incredible experiences in my career – dancing on So You Think You Can Dance, Hit the Floor, and Dancing with the Stars, and even hosting Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings. But the best part of the decade was definitely growing our family and having our wonderful children! #decade #newyearseve #funtolookback #life #love #experience #memories #newyork @sir_twitch_alot
