New Star Wars Movie Plot Summary Teases Secrets of the Ancient Sith

Next year, the world of Star Wars is heading back to cinemas with a new film featuring Din Djarin and Grogu, the characters from The Mandalorian. While Lucasfilm isn’t sharing much about the story yet, the movie seems likely to explore hidden truths about the Sith. The initial trailer focused on the film’s overall feel and included some instantly shareable moments, but a recently released plot summary might hint at key story elements.

A German Blu-ray website revealed a curious description of the movie, first spotted by the Mandoverse Updates Twitter account. While the beginning of the description aligns with existing information, a later part contains completely new details.

With the Empire fallen and its soldiers dispersed across the galaxy, some former commanders are now ruthless warlords trying to maintain control. Din Djarin and his apprentice, Grogu, are hunting down these remaining threats. Their search leads them to Khar’Zuun, where they uncover a hidden Imperial base. While there, Grogu finds an ancient artifact that dramatically enhances his powers.

Please be aware that this summary isn’t official and may have been added by mistake, so its accuracy is uncertain. However, it contains some interesting details that connect with established Star Wars history, and could potentially reveal hidden information about the Sith.

Where is Khar’Zuun?

Din Djarin and Grogu are now assisting the New Republic by fighting the remaining forces of the old Empire throughout the galaxy. Unbeknownst to them, these Imperial remnants are being secretly controlled by the Imperial Shadow Council, a group of leaders plotting to restore the Empire’s power. This Council is working on a dangerous plan called “Project Necromancer” to bring back Palpatine, and they will succeed. They’re probably using Palpatine’s hidden bases – secret locations where he conducted dark side experiments – and one of these, Khar’Zuun, seems to fit the description.

Khar’Zuun seems like a completely original location, but its name is interesting. It follows a pattern used for other ancient Sith worlds, like Khar Shian and Khar Delba. These worlds are all located in the Outer Rim – areas where we know Din Djarin operates. Interestingly, the website Star Wars Holocron points out that ‘Khar’Zuun’ also appeared in an older, fan-created Star Wars role-playing game. This suggests the name comes from a very obscure part of Star Wars history – so hidden, it’s not even documented on major fan sites like Wookieepedia.

What Force Artifact Does Grogu Discover?

The story suggests Grogu finds an item that makes him stronger with the Force. In Star Wars lore, there are three kinds of Force-related objects: some hold memories or personalities, some boost Force powers, and others weaken them. Items that amplify the Force are uncommon in current stories – the Echo Stones from the Force-rich Planet X are a well-known example. These amplifiers were also rare in older stories, and often connected to the ancient Sith.

That all makes sense. A Force amplifier is like a shortcut, allowing someone strong with the Force to become even more powerful, and Jedi would likely disapprove of that. Sith, however, would love it. It’s easy to picture Palpatine having his researchers look for something like this. But if this amplifier has Sith origins, it probably means Grogu is about to experience the full extent of the dark side’s power.

It’s unclear how accurate this plot summary is, but the details fit together remarkably well. They create a story that truly needs the specific pairing of a Mandalorian bounty hunter and his Force-sensitive student. The fact that it feels so plausible makes it something to keep in mind as more information about The Mandalorian and Grogu is released.
