The holidays are here, and people are already enjoying their favorite Christmas songs and movies! Along with classics like “Silent Night,” “The First Noel,” “White Christmas,” and Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” a new version of a beloved Christmas song has arrived. This one features Jem and the Holograms, the popular animated band from the 1980s, and we’re excited to share the first look at their cheerful new music video just in time for the holidays.
Jem and the Holograms became popular in the 1980s, so it’s perfect that they’ve now covered another hit from that decade: Wham!’s “Last Christmas.” Released in 1984, “Last Christmas” has become a holiday staple, and you can now see Jem and the Holograms put their own spin on the song in the video below.
You can listen to this song over and over again right here! The official description says Jem and the Holograms are back with a fun, new version of Wham!’s classic, “Last Christmas.” It’s full of Jem’s signature sparkle, upbeat energy, and beautiful harmonies, turning a sad song into a magical holiday tune. With vocals from Britta Phillips, this version of “Last Christmas” captures the spirit of Jem – always timeless, fearless, and full of brightness. Get ready to add some glitter and shine this season!

As a huge fan of Jem, I was so excited to discover a brand new EP! It’s got fresh takes on all the classic songs – you know, the Jem and the Holograms theme, “Truly Outrageous,” “Only the Beginning,” “Like A Dream,” “I Got My Eye On You,” and of course, “She’s Got The Power.” Seriously, if you love Jem, you need to check out the full EP right here!
Originally airing in 1985, the animated series Jem and the Holograms was a big hit for three seasons, concluding in 1988. Despite ending its run, the franchise remained popular through comics and toys. Now, BOOM! Studios owns the rights and plans to launch a new series in 2026.
Michael Kelly, Publisher of BOOM! Studios, shared, “I helped relaunch the JEM & THE HOLOGRAMS comic series in 2015 and was thrilled to see how much our stories resonated with a wide range of readers. I’m excited to be working with Jerrica, Kimber, Stormer, Pizzazz, and the whole group again!”
Fans of Jem and the Holograms have a lot to be excited about next year, and Last Christmas is a fantastic way to kick off the fun!
