Online communities, especially those interested in anime, are currently fascinated with identifying “aura farmers” – characters who are so effortlessly cool that they create excitement simply by existing. As this trend grows, it’s become a popular pastime to decide which characters fit the bill.
With anime becoming more popular, its images and scenes are frequently used in memes. One popular meme, ‘aura farming,’ playfully points out characters who constantly try to look impressive. This is especially common with anime’s most powerful and stylish heroes, and it’s fun to recognize which ones do it the most.
7) Ichigo Kurosaki (Bleach)

Ichigo Kurosaki is the central character in the anime series Bleach. He takes on the role of a Substitute Soul Reaper to shield his loved ones from dangerous spirits called Hollows. As he faces increasingly important battles, Ichigo grows stronger and becomes key to protecting both the spirit world, known as Soul Society, and the entire universe.
Compared to many other action heroes of his time, Ichigo is surprisingly down-to-earth. However, whenever he gains a significant power boost, Bleach always showcases him confidently defeating an opponent. While Bleach usually saves impressive displays of power for its villains, Ichigo consistently represents the heroes well in this regard.
6) Satoru Gojo (Jujutsu Kaisen)

Satoru Gojo is a central figure in the anime Jujutsu Kaisen. He’s dedicated to protecting the students at Jujutsu High, hoping to nurture a strong new generation of sorcerers. He’s able to do this thanks to his incredible power, stemming from his Limitless technique and his unique Six Eyes.
Gojo is incredibly powerful in Jujutsu Kaisen, and he always makes sure to dramatically show his superiority in every fight. His most iconic moment involves him confidently comparing himself to Buddha, and it’s clear he’s earned the right to be so self-assured.
5) Sung Jinwoo (Solo Leveling)

Sung Jinwoo is the central character in the anime Solo Leveling. He starts out as the weakest Hunter in the world, but after almost dying, he gains a unique ability. This power lets him level up like in a video game, and through training, Jinwoo transforms from the weakest to the strongest Hunter alive.
As Jinwoo gets stronger, he also becomes more confident and intimidating, both to his enemies and those around him. The story consistently emphasizes just how powerful he is. He’s largely credited with popularizing the concept of ‘aura farming’ in anime, and it’s clear to see why he’s become so well-regarded.
4) Roronoa Zoro (One Piece)

I’m a huge fan of Zoro from One Piece! He’s an incredible swordsman with this amazing goal: to become the world’s best and surpass Dracule Mihawk. It’s been awesome watching him grow, especially after the two-year timeskip and getting trained directly by Mihawk! He’s seriously closer to achieving his dream now than ever before, and I can’t wait to see him do it!
Zoro is usually the second-strongest fighter on the Straw Hat crew after Luffy, and the anime One Piece consistently portrays him as a powerful and fearsome opponent. His battles often feature some of the series’ best animation, and it’s well-deserved – few characters are as impressive in a fight.
3) Kamina (Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann)

Kamina is a key character in the anime Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. He’s always dreamed of escaping life underground and reaching the surface world, and when faced with a threat from the Beastmen, he immediately steps up to fight. He’s a natural leader with a lot of charisma, making him perfect for taking charge.
Kamina often talks a big game, and doesn’t always have the strength to match, but he’s incredibly charismatic. Gurren Lagann consistently portrays him as a truly cool character. What’s remarkable is that he continues to have a strong impact on the story even after he’s gone – very few anime characters achieve that kind of lasting presence.
2) Piccolo (Dragon Ball)

Piccolo is a long-time rival of Goku in the Dragon Ball series. Originally, he aimed to follow in his father, King Piccolo’s, villainous footsteps. However, when the Saiyans appeared, Piccolo teamed up with Earth’s heroes. Over time, and especially through his bond with Gohan, Piccolo transformed into a powerful protector of Earth.
Piccolo, a key fighter in the Dragon Ball series, is consistently at the center of the action. He frequently strikes a powerful pose, particularly in the movies, to demonstrate his strength. He’s often considered one of the earliest anime characters to visibly ‘charge up’ with energy, and it’s clear to see why.
1) Seto Kaiba (Yu-Gi-Oh!)

Seto Kaiba is a key character in the Yu-Gi-Oh! series and Yugi’s biggest competitor. After losing a duel and his title as the world’s best, Kaiba becomes obsessed with regaining it, going to extreme and often unbelievable lengths to challenge Yugi again.
Kaiba is known for his huge ego and memorable way of speaking, particularly in the English dub. His pride is so strong, he once seemed to defy death simply because he refused to accept defeat. Very few anime characters are as proud and powerful as Kaiba, making him the most imposing and intimidating character in anime, hands down.
