The tech news site Moore’s Law Is Dead recently sparked rumors about a possible handheld version of the PlayStation 6.

He recently featured an anonymous email from a game developer in a YouTube video discussing the PS5’s new low power mode. The developer said Sony wants more game creators to use the feature and has offered documentation and advice to help them implement it.

Testing in games that already have the feature, such as Demon’s Souls, shows it’s possible to run at a smooth 60 frames per second while using it. It seems the biggest way the feature saves power is by reducing the game’s resolution, which is also what the console manufacturer intended.
