I was absolutely caught off-guard by the recent update to Peak’s latest version! The developers subtly hinted at some changes to specific items, but we gamers had to figure out the details ourselves – good old trial and error. It turns out they’ve given these items a fresh twist that makes gameplay even more exciting! Of course, there are plenty of other improvements in Version 1.7 as well. The creators behind Peak have assured us that this is just one of many updates to come, keeping the game vibrant and evolving.
In the game Peak, players are encountering an unexpected change regarding Anti-Rope Spools and Anti-Rope Shooters. Contrary to belief, these items weigh -1, causing them to float instead of being held. This shocking revelation came as players watched their belongings drift away from them, leaving them powerless in their efforts to stop it.
As a Peak gamer, I found myself pondering an amusing idea that sparked among us: could hoarding enough of these items make us float? It sounds far-fetched, but imagine the laughter and strategic depth it would bring to our cooperative climbing game!
On a more tangible note, this update has given our Rope Shooters and Anti-Rope Shooters a 50% boost in rope, which is certainly something to celebrate.
In this update for Peak, some modifications have occurred involving items like whole coconuts, which players need to take note of and adapt their climbing strategies accordingly. Additionally, new features and bug fixes have been added in this version. With these improvements, player-created mods, such as visualizing where other players slipped during their climb, and the game’s promising future, Peak is looking brighter than ever. However, given the developer’s playful nature, players should stay alert for any item adjustments in the future; otherwise, they might learn a tough lesson yet again.

LOCALIZATION:
Translations are in! The game is now available in the following languages:
- English
- French
- Italian
- German
- Spanish (Spain)
- Spanish (LATAM)
- Brazilian Portuguese
- Russian
- Ukrainian
- Chinese (Simplified)
- Japanese
- Korean
FEATURES:
- Whole coconuts will now bonk scouts when thrown at them. We were considering making every item bonk but then none of you would ever reach the PEAK again.
- Re-added the ability to throw items at fruits and beehives to knock them down. Not sure when that broke but we’re so back.
BALANCE CHANGES:
- Bugle of Friendship will no longer show up in Solo Play
- Rope Spool now has a weight of 1 instead of 0. Anti-Rope Spool and Anti-Rope Shooter now have a weight of -1
- Chain Launchers now cannot be shot above or below a certain angle past the horizon line. This is to remove unintended use cases where a chain launcher shot directly upwards would get you much further than other items – it’s intended to be used for lateral traversal!
- Rope Shooters and Anti-Rope Shooters shoot 50% more rope!
- Anti-Rope Spool and Anti-Rope Shooter physics will now behave differently if you let go of them…
- Made ticks easier to remove in Solo Play
FIXES:
- Fixed an issue where backpacks would become non-interactable. This was a tricky one to solve so thanks for your patience on it!!
- Fixed an issue where the campfire would not be lightable if a friend reconnected to the game.
- Fixed a bug where an item held in the temporary item slot would not contribute to your weight
- Fixed an issue where guidebook SFX was not spatialized.
- Players will now fall off pitons when passed out, fixing an issue where, on revival, they don’t experience teleporting back to the piton.
- Potentially fixed an issue where Chain Shooters would spawn with nothing in the chamber.
- Potentially fixed an issue where players screens would go black.
