Okay, so I was really looking forward to playing Saros on my PS5, but it looks like I’ll have to wait a little longer. Sony and Housemarque just pushed the release date from March 20, 2026, to April 30th. Bummer, but at least I can pre-order it now to get it ready to go when it finally drops!
Here are the latest details:
Our Story Will Haunt You
Saros represents the pinnacle of Housemarque’s focus on engaging gameplay. Our trailer from The Game Awards highlights the intriguing story and monstrous creatures, showcasing how we’re pushing our creative boundaries. This is our largest and most ambitious narrative to date.
Saros is a chilling tale set on the distant colony of Carcosa, shrouded in a perpetual eclipse. You take on the role of Arjun Devraj, a determined Soltari Enforcer relentlessly pursuing his target.
You’ll find a hidden hallway and room that you’re meant to investigate. To keep the story’s surprises intact, we’ll let the trailer reveal what we want you to know – allowing you to uncover the details yourself.
Rahul Kohli gives a fantastic performance as Arjun Devraj, and he’s joined by a wonderful cast of supporting characters. These characters help bring the world of Carcosa to life with their unique stories and personalities, which players can uncover throughout the game.
Our Ensemble Cast Pulls You Into the World of Saros

If you enjoyed Selene Vassos’ voice in Returnal, you’ll be pleased to know Jane Perry returns as Sheridan Bouchard. Joining her is Ben Prendergast (known as Tyr in God of War: Ragnarok) as Jerome Jackson, and David DeSantos as Sebastian Torres. You can also hear Adriyan Raye (South of Midnight) and Shunori Ramanthan in the trailer. We’ve assembled an incredible cast overall, and everyone has delivered exceptional performances.
Okay, so you’ll run into a bunch of cool characters – NPCs, basically – in the Passage, which is where you start every run. But you’ll also find them out in the world as you explore. I’m really excited because they all have these mysterious backstories you uncover by talking to them, or by finding old Soltari Hologram and audio logs. It’s a great way to learn more about the world while you’re playing.
I’m so excited for Saros! From what I’ve heard, the actors and the storytellers at Housemarque are really going all-out to create a world you can truly lose yourself in. They’re aiming for something really deep and moving – a story that really gets under your skin and explores what people sacrifice when trying to build a better future. It sounds like it’s going to be an emotional rollercoaster, and I can’t wait to experience it.
Our Spectacular Bullet Ballet returns
No Housemarque trailer is complete without fast-paced, bullet-filled action! We’re excited to share a first look at Prophet and some gameplay featuring the dangerous plants and creatures of Carcos. Playing as Arjun, you’ll face challenging enemies and unravel their hidden story throughout this cinematic adventure.
We’ve added a new move called Parry. If you press the R1 button at just the right moment, you can deflect enemy projectiles, either destroying them or briefly stunning the enemy. It’s incredibly satisfying to pull off and helps make the combat even more dynamic.
Digital Deluxe and Pre-Order Editions: 48- Hour Headstart With Digital Deluxe

If you’re looking for the complete Saros experience, the Digital Deluxe Edition lets you start playing 48 hours before the official launch. It also includes beautiful artwork showcasing the ancient murals and rich world of the game.

As a Digital Deluxe owner, I’m so excited to play as Saros with these awesome PlayStation Studios celebration suits! They’ve designed Enforcer suits for Arjun inspired by Returnal, God of War, and Ghost of Tsushima – seriously cool! I already love playing as Arjun in an ASTRA suit, but as a huge fan of both Sony Santa Monica and Sucker Punch Productions, it’s a real honor to see their universes blended with ours. It’s a fantastic bonus for Digital Deluxe players like me!
For players who pre-order Saros or Saros Digital Deluxe you can unlock the “Hands of Shore Armor.”
Come Back Stronger in 2026
We recently shared more details about the story of Saros, and we also want to let you know about a change to the release date. To ensure Saros is the best it can be, we’re now planning to launch on April 30, 2026.
We’re excited to soon reveal more details about our game, including how we’re utilizing the power of the PlayStation 5, and updates from the team at Saros.
We’ll be sharing more updates next year as we get closer to launching the game. Expect to hear about our new “Come Back Stronger” features, improvements to how challenging events happen, and longer, more engaging gameplay experiences.
