Silent Night, Deadly Night star pushes the importance of seeing the new movie in cinemas

Rohan Campbell, known for his role in “Halloween Ends,” is taking on another iconic character: a sinister Santa Claus. He’s excited for audiences to see his take on this twisted role in theaters during the holidays.

Silent Night, Deadly Night, a remake of the originally debated 1984 film, centers around Billy (Campbell), a killer haunted by the memory of seeing his parents murdered by someone dressed as Santa Claus. This trauma fuels his violent actions.

This new horror film takes a slightly different approach than the original. In this 2025 version, the killer, Billy, is driven to commit murder by an internal voice, and he specifically targets people he deems morally flawed.

Director Mike P. Nelson says this film offers a more heartwarming experience compared to the original, and star Rohan Campbell encourages audiences to see it on the big screen.

Because Nelson was already familiar with the story, he reimagined it with over-the-top humor, unexpected plot twists, and extremely violent scenes, delivering a highly entertaining experience for viewers.

I was really struck by how visually stunning this movie is. It creates such a beautiful atmosphere that completely draws you into the story. What I think the filmmakers did brilliantly was focus on recreating that special feeling of actually being at the movies.

The movie is a thrilling ride as Billy commits murder while genuinely believing he’s justified, because he sees his victims as deserving of their fate. Rohan is excited for audiences to experience this complex internal struggle.

The characters are designed to create internal conflict and make you question their choices. With Billy, it’s even stronger – he’s determined to do what he feels he must, and he’ll do it with a strong moral code. This makes the violence strangely enjoyable because you can watch it from a safe distance and even consider how you would react in a similar situation. It’s an interesting and engaging approach.

Silent Night, Deadly Night is released in UK cinemas on Friday 12th December 2025.
