Avatar Studios is creating a new series set in the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender, continuing the story after the events of both the original show and The Legend of Korra. Called Avatar: Seven Havens, the series will not only explore the future but also reveal more about the past Avatars, giving fans a deeper look into the history they’ve been eager to see.
The new Avatar sequel series, Avatar: Seven Havens, is in the works, and fans are getting a sneak peek! Isabella Beottcher and Joan Hilty from Avatar Studios recently appeared on the Avatar: Braving the Elements podcast to share a few hints about what’s coming. Hilty also mentioned that, similar to previous series, this one will explore the largely untold history of past Avatars.
Avatar: Seven Havens to Explore More Past Avatars
Just like the different time periods connect within the original novels, the new series Avatar: Seven Havens will reveal connections to the past, specifically offering new details about Avatar Kyoshi. According to Joan Hilty, a story editor at Avatar Studios, the show will give fans a deeper understanding of previous eras. This is exciting news for fans who have long requested more stories about past Avatars. While we’ve learned bits and pieces through other related projects, Seven Havens promises to explore these stories directly within a TV series.
The upcoming series, Avatar: Seven Havens, will feature a significantly different visual style compared to the original. Creator Bryan Konietzko has described the new look as a complete departure while still retaining the core feel of Avatar. The creators drew inspiration from 1990s anime and the work of Moebius to create a more fantastical and otherworldly setting, and they are eager to share the new visuals with fans.
What We Know About Avatar: Seven Havens So Far

I’m still waiting to find out when Avatar: Seven Havens will actually come out – there’s no release date set yet. But I’m excited to hear that Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, the creators of Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra, are back as series creators and executive producers. They’re joined by Ethan Spaulding as an executive producer and Sehaj Sethi as a co-executive producer. The first season will be a total of 26 episodes, split into two parts – Book 1 with 13 episodes and Book 2 with another 13.
The upcoming sequel takes place in a world after a major catastrophe, and features a new Avatar who is an Earthbender. She and her twin, who were separated long ago, are on the run from both people and spirits. They need to figure out where they come from and protect the Seven Havens, the last safe places on Earth, before they fall. What are your thoughts? Share them and discuss it with other fans in the ComicBook Forum!
