Just when you thought the big game releases of 2025 were over, there’s still more to come! While things are slowing down, there are still new games for players to discover. If you enjoy action RPGs with roguelite elements and a bit of MOBA gameplay, be sure to check out Raiders of Blackveil, which is launching in Early Access on Steam today. This top-down dungeon crawler is from new developer Wombo Games.
Wombo Games is a brand new game studio led by Janos Flösser, who used to be the creative head at Square Enix. The team includes developers with experience on well-known action and RPG titles like Tomb Raider and Hitman. Their first game, Raiders of Blackveil, is a dark fantasy action RPG that blends popular gameplay styles. You can play an early version of it on Steam starting December 15th, and the complete game is scheduled to launch in 2026.
Raiders of Blackveil Launches into Early Access on Steam
Raiders of Blackveil is an action RPG where you explore dungeons from a top-down perspective. It combines fast-paced gameplay with roguelike features, meaning each playthrough is unique. You’ll pick a character with abilities similar to those found in popular MOBA games and then venture into dungeons to collect treasure and battle monsters. The new trailer gives us a look at some of the characters you can play as, how the game’s perk system works, and its roguelike features. It also highlights the exciting loot you’ll find while exploring and offers a quick glimpse of one of the challenging bosses you’ll face.
If you’ve played the game’s demo or helped with testing, the Early Access version includes a lot of fresh content! We’ve added a brand new area to explore, complete with new creatures, items, and more. This version also features new character perks and focuses heavily on making the game run smoothly and reliably – a big improvement over the demo.
When Raiders of Blackveil enters Early Access, players will get to try out the main gameplay. You can pick from 8 different character classes and customize them with a unique set of perks. Plus, you’ll be able to hunt for RPG-style loot, either by yourself or with up to three friends in co-op mode.
Wombo Games has outlined its plans for the game’s development, including the Early Access phase. They’re aiming to fully release the game in 2026, and will regularly add new content like areas to explore, characters, items, and abilities during Early Access. Player feedback will be a key part of the development process as they work towards the full launch.
